i want to do some upgrading but i think i might sell the whole thing and build a new one from scratch.
here is the specs:

Yeah you could probably get 500-600 out of somebody that knows about computers. For somebody that has no idea what they're doing you could probably get up to about $800 for it. So bottom line is, find some idiot with a lot of money that wants to upgrade from some P.O.S.

600 is a bit much... you probably won't get over 500 if whoever you're selling to knows what he's buying...

I agree that you wouldnt even get 500 bucks. For $600 bucks these days, you could get an Athlon 64, PCI motherboard, at least a GeForce 6800 or an x1600, 1-2GB of RAM and a case and quality CPU (not a generic one).

kinda sad how yesterdays pride and joy turns into todays obsolete piece of junk.. its to outdated to sell to a gamer and anybody else would sooner buy a cheapo "uptodate" system even thow it aint as good..

Sorry to point out the obvious, but you're kinda assuming the guy has his own monitor/OS. THAT will up the price a good $300. If you're trying to sell the rig w/o monitor/OS, sell it for $500. if you're including OS, you can definitely go for a bit more. and if you sell it with the monitor...$700 and no less

. but yeah, sell it, you cant really upgrade an Athlon XP (sorry). If you want to try, go for a 7800GS and some memory heatsinks. then...OVERCLOCK!!! upgrades can be fun, but I think that athon XP is past its prime for current games.

forget about selling it just bung a 7800gs in there and use it for a bit longer or use the better bits u have and upgrade it properly.. selling it as a whole aint a viable option.. it wont fetch enough..
