Lol, I have one powering my spider rig, and it actually uses three 18A 12v rails. With the quad at 1.5v, you probablly are overloading one. I'm still not 100% positive though, perhaps wait for the new cards first. Try using a monitoring program like Asus pc probe to determine where the volts are at OC'd and under load.

I really think it's your quad at 1.5+ that's doing the dirty business. But check the rails with a monitor if you can.

*Wait... In your specs it says your running your axeram undervolted at over 1200mhz. That can deffinitely cause some problems across the board.

well in my hardware i think its 2.18 i'll chekc when i stick my 9600gt in (his gets rma'ed tomorrow)

Jonny Guru proved that these Corsair HX psus don't actually have multiple rails. They are split "after the fact. You can run them at there combined maximum 12v amperage on just a single rail with no problems.

But that said, I think maybe I want to get a bigger psu, just to be safe. I get unstable at high voltages too.

If your Rampage is anything like my Maximus, it actually overvolts the ram. I run my Transcend at 2.1V in BIOS, and it equates to 2.2V real.

If your Rampage is anything like my Maximus, it actually overvolts the ram. I run my Transcend at 2.1V in BIOS, and it equates to 2.2V real.

he actually has a maximus that has a rampage bios

and thats good to know, I was just going over my board more today(i have a x48 rampage) and I noticed that it does overvolt the ram. Its about .08 volts. I wonder why it does this??

why dont u buy a cheap watt meter wall plug thing freak.. i doubt u are overloading your psu.. i dont have a quad but the last time i measured by rig with just one 3870 card it pulled about 280 watts from the wall fully loaded and fully clocked..

i recon with two cards no more than 360 watts.. my psu has two 19 amp rails.. thats 456 watts.. your problems seems simple to me freak.. u are getting a little too carried away with the desire (obsession) for high 2006 scores.. he he he

i like to have one at the top but take note i stopped trying with my hardware long ago.. i know what its capable of.. no longer being at the top without killing it.. he he he

19033 - freaksavior - Q6600 3.65ghz 3870 @ 837 Core 1224 Mem - XP

i dont see many similar with higher scores.. i see some cpus at 4 gig.. in fact i see lots of hardware killing extremes.. hardware luck plays a big part at the levels u are after.. your score is good for what u have.. stop playing silly buggers..

unless u are very lucky or have tons of cash to keep buying new hardware to keep up its a no-win scenario..

i have the hardware for a top dual score.. i dont complain.. it was the top a long time back when it was first put up..

but the top score comes down first to having lucky good hardware and then who can be stupid enough to way overvolt more than anybody else and wreck the good lucky hardware..

when do u stop..???.. it seems with some its when the hardware breaks.. which is why the word obsession springs to mind..

It turns out it was my ram causing the problems, that was fixed with super slow timings, ram cooler, and some voltage

Oh, i win the war! :nutkick:

... 3DMark kept crashing at 4.5Ghz, my ram started to give me problems again :shadedshu
