@ O/P sorry for the mini-jack

dude!

looks like you could have a killer monday if all goes well! :rockout:

will you be W/C that rig?

:toast:

TEC cooled by water. with the new setup i should be able to see 5.5ghz on the e8500 at around 3c full load. that's just my estimation though. could be better or worse.

im REALLY hoping the difference between 3 and 4 gpu setups will be significant this time around.

well if you can get quadfire jammin with a 5ghz+ CPU that would be schweeeeet!

i think to get clocks like that you'll have to go sub ambient ;)

UH yeah... that's why im using the TEC. it freezes the chip if i let it. it can cool WELL below 0c/32f... see the attached img. that was with the old setup.. the new setup is capable of a LOT lower temps.

in ur previous post you said "full load @ around 3c" so was just commenting/questioning that

what would you be using for the TEC setup?

225watt TEC/Iwaki RD-30/2x TC PA120.3's/Meanwell 24v & 17v Psu's

3c is what the old setup did at full load. that's well below ambient temps of 27-29c

i'll have some pics up on monday.

Just check in at the ATI website on the drivers. And I get this "The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later." So there either working on the server or loading the new suite. It only happens when trying to go to the lastest drivers.

Still 8.4 at the moment.

If we see an performance increase with these 8.5's then I expect I should be able to hit just under 10,000 in 3DMark06 with an AGP card.

:D

My current best is 9125. That was in my Shuttle, now I've got a new mobo to test out. So far it's fucked my SATA HDD over so I'm having to recover everything. :( However I did have it up to 2.8GHz :p

I don't know extacly what it's going fix. I don't really know what's wrong with the AGP's. What's wrong with them?

I have an ASUS AH6350 on AGP with 512MB DDR2 which has a bloody low performance matched to the old 6600GT with 128MB DDR3.
I have no directx problems whatsoever, BUT....

3DMark2006
HD3650 - 1700 points
6600GT - 1670 points

And here I went nuts...

COUNTER STRIKE SOURCE - Stress test
1440x900 AAx6 AFx16 dx9
model detail - high
texture detail - high
water detail - reflect all
shader detail - high
shadow detail - high
HD3650 - 37.25fps vs. 6600GT - 59.75fps

Crysis - HOC Benchmark - 800x600 Low details
HD3650 - min 5, avg 13, max 24 fps
6600GT - min 19, avg 31, max 62 fps

Crysis - HOC Benchmark - 1024x768 Medium details
HD3650 - min 1, avg 7, max 14 fps
6600GT - min 3, avg 8, max 12 fps

Live For Speed - full details on 1440x900
HD3650 - 15-20fps
6600GT - ~60 fps

This all was benchmarked on A64 3000+@2.3GHz, 3x512MB DDR, MOBO nForce3 250g and WinXP SP2 with Catalist 8.4 + HotFix.
My old 6600GT outperformed the new HD3650 on AGP!!!!
As you see this sucks. :(

BUT I got really angry and tried the HD3650 AGP on modified XP (Tiny XP - Beast edition from eXPerience), which has all the unnecessary stuff removed from the original XP image.
+ Manually installed just the driver from the last Hotfix (not from catalyst 8.4)
Then I got what I expected from this card.

3DMark2006 up to 2800 points, before I had 1700
CS Source - 101fps vs. 37fps before
Crysis - HOC Benchmark:
800x600 Low details - min 28, avg 40, max 69 fps vs. before: min 5, avg 13, max 24 fps
1024x768 Medium details - min 13, avg 21, max 34 fps vs. before min 1, avg 7, max 14 fps

LFS 1440x900 - 85~90fps before 15~20fps

So afterall I can say that there are two problems:
1. ATI drivers needs to be fixed and finally optimized.
2. Something has to be changed in WinXP too, because I installed just the driver from the last Hotfix into my original WinXP, but no improvements on fps performance.
2800 points in 3DMark2006 I was able to get only with combination of an illegal, cut and tweaked XP and pure drivers from the last Hotfix.

Sorry guys, but this is not the way I want to get the RV630's real performance. So I am hardly waiting for the 8.5 Catalyst too and hope I can have the wished fps rates!!!

the drivers are out today, no signs of a Hotfix Driver yet.

Right, I uninstalled 8.4's and went to install these and it borked my MMC module so now I can't install them or get CCC to work.

I can't find a patch or a fix online, so if anyone could be so help that'd be awesome!

I've tried the regsvr32 command but it doesn't work. So gutted.

When you went too uninstall it, and when you installed CCC then restart. That's when it gave you the MMC error? Try to force close it and or any ATI stuff. Then try it again. And use DriverCleaner too.

why you gotta be a dick and call me "kido" WTF is that?

Wow, Intel, that's a pretty heated response for being called kido.
Good thing he didn't call you a Canook :D (just teasing ya man)

On topic: I still haven't gotten around to installing 8.4 yet. :wtf:
I really have to prioritize a little time for computer upgrades.

I've done that, but it looks as if the specific DLL files for Device Manager have been corrupted. Which is a major pain. I haven't been able to replace them either. So far, I'm not liking Vista.

I'm going to try reparing booting from my Vista DVD, if that doesn't work I'll just have to install it on my old XP partition. >.<

I have to wait 8 days for Microsoft to send my the hotfix. Why they can't just allow people to download it annoys me so much!

Anyone had any luck with AGP cards yet?
