Reinstalled Vista and now it's working fine with 70's. Flashdrive and Vista's ability to install without DVD saved me

Looks like x64 Vista doesn't like 66's.

Good news for sub-8 series GeForce owners

177.79 came out with full 8,9,and 200 series support. So because 6, 7, Quadro owners are also here, i added support for them

I've been running the 177.66 driver here on VISTA 64 with Zero Issue....your Issues must be from something else. :toast:

I had to clean drivers/re-install em a couple of times to make it work.. Lol.. 177.66's that is

EDIT:

79's on Vista x64, 7600GS, I could detect clock settings, fan settings, and oc too

Confirmed working, although I needed several reboots to make it properly install, gotta hate that auto driver search function, even though I set it to ask me everytime, it just screws up my GFX card installation... Now off for some gaming... Thanks pag!! :rockout:

Yes, probbably in my Abit mobo, which is unbelieveably huge piece of crap. Also XFX 8600GTS whos DVI outputs didn't worked, is fully working w/o problems on Asrock mobo, so my Abit Hate-o-meter is almost reached it's maximum :banghead:

Plus after taking out and putting back my 8800GTS, it's fan isn't running at 100% anymore, but on 60% as it must to.

I did the update to 177.79's...can't say they're any different, my rig is still very stable, my GTX 260 performs very well and still OC's great. I say it can't hurt to go to, there isn't a loss in performance that I noticed at least...but I usually don't do driver-to-driver benchmark comparisons anymore...a few FPS won't ruin my day if ya know what I mean!

Whenever there is a official driver that is higher then the ones out there now, I all ways think of it as being better... But, that's me...
I do think the drivers are worth it. I haven't had a issue yet, and everything is a go on all my stuff...

I would assume you could just go to the power pack site, get the DL/manager and do it that way...the driver is like 126mb, but has all the updated physx stuff too. The D/L manager actually worked very well for me, was quick and easy...I didn't mind it.

thanks kursah, but atm i'm sharing 512K net with 4 other people, and ones a P2P mac user who wont stop downloading. (so the nets effectively useless, but she locks her PC in her room so we cant stop the downloads)

edit: yeah its laming out. clicking the download manager does nothing, and in IE and firefox the 'manual' option has no links or clickies.
