Benchmark Scores AMD/ATI 4870 running @ 860/1000 MHz (for now) 3DMark Vantage (P6838, GPU: 8573, CPU: 4255)
I flashed the ASUS Top bios again on my Club3D 4870. After a real power off it didn't boot again just like the first time. I had to flash the card with a 2nd card in my pc again.
I will now use my own custom bios again (allready running now).

I didn't get to much comments the 1st time but the ASUS bios seems a no go for me.

EDIT: I just made another custom bios, setting the card by default on 820/1000 and I gave it the AUS top fan settings. It seems to work perfectly. Even after power off (no black screen).

eastcoast nice news, but why when I install it under vista 64 it says that it can't be used cause it uses an unsigned driver or something like that, and then ATT gives me errors?

Vista problem, IMO you have to disable that feature and make sure that you install it as administrator. This new version was just release so I don't know of any specific fixes at this time.

Run command prompt as administator and type:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
then hit enter. This is permanent and I am not sure what other features are effected on your setup

Or

Reboot, just before the Vista logo screen pops up hit F8 and scroll down to the disable driver signing option and hit enter. But be warned, this is only for that session (I think).

Edit:
Almost forgot about VistaBootPRO
Click on the advanced options tab. Then use the
drop down list to choose the operating system you want to edit. Then
check disable vista driver signing. Click apply, restart your system.

ATT actually shows you your GPU voltage and some other voltages. I think you can alter it as well.

In all honesty, a software option is more user friendly for those who are not interested in changing their bios.

yes you right, some people wont change their bios, its easy, but risk is high, im just try agct for increasing my clock (not yet att), but powerplay not functions, so for me, change the bios then using overdrive is my best option:toast:

Damn..unfortunately that trick doesn't work.I can't get ATT to work properly under vista 64 because of that unsigned driver error. It's annoying having to press F8 each time I boot in order to make it work.Isn't there a way to permanently fix this through vista 64 settings and never have to face it again?

hello i was wondering if anyone else is getting ATI Crossfire Disabled (crossfire available) in gpu-z, ive set it already in CCC to use overdrive and enable crossfire with a clock of 800/1100 for both cards, and when i test games and furmark and 3dmark06 i see first 4870 go to 800 core but the 2nd card is always at its idle 500/1100, only the first card goes to overdrive, i might be thinking that my crossfire is not enabled but when i use the overdrive core adjustments and test it it goes up to 800, anyone can shed light to this? thanks

I've seen someone in ATT beta forum offering this as solution
http://citadel.x10hosting.com/readydriverplus/
Guy that had the problem said that solved it, so I hope it will work for you too ;) I'll try it on my Vista SP1 64bit install when I get some more time..

I have a question,
I use Xp for most games but the CCC tells me the second card is disabled,Where as in Vista64x it says it is linked,Is it normal for it to read disabled in XP even though 3dmark06 says linked? Also GPU-Z says crossfire enable 2 gpu`s.

A possible fix for current DFI X38 and X48 motherboard and HD4870 X2 users, having compatibility problems can be seen by clicking here (Taken from Hardware Canucks - Palit HD4870 X2 Review). Hope that helps...

Hi guys. I just bought a whole new rig, yay for me :toast:

Now I'm having frustrating problems with the 4870. Any game I have tried so far crashes sooner or later. Stalker is stable for 10-30mins, but others (Assassins's Creed, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, R6 Vegas, HOMM:V) crash almost immediately. This happens with both 8.7 and 8.8 beta.

All benchmarks go just fine, I even did an all night stress test with both cpu and gpu stressed. I've also tried with a Asus Top bios and it changes nothing.

I'm suspecting something to do with the drivers, since 3DMarks go through like nothing.

Also as an added weirdness, if I have my monitor attached with HDMI calble via the DVI-HDMI dongle, whenever I turn off the monitor (or windows turns it off) and power back on, Windows freezes. The mouse moves, but nothing happens, keyboard doesn't respond etc. This doesn't happen with VGA cable or without drivers. I tried searching the net, but it seems that no one else has ever had the same problem

And yes, I allready updated my monitor drivers too.

Okay, that was a long first post, phew :)
