G15 V2 Not allowing Computer to Shutdown

Here is my system spec.

Motherboard: Sapphire 790FX Pure

CPU: AMD 64 6400 X2

Video: 2x HD4870's

Ram 4x 1GB Crucial Ballistic Tracer (PC2-8500)

OS: Vista 64 Bit Ultimate

I have already sent one of these keyboards back under RMA, due to the problem of it not allowing the computer to shutdown when you select the option it just restarts it, But when the keyboard is not plugged in the system shut's down fine.

If anybody has any suggestions that would be brillant as im rathered annoyed that it cost £50 and it doesn't work. (the 790FX Pure is basicly a recoloured DFI board.

Ooh I wanted that board soooooo bad back when I was still with AMD.

Tried contacting Sapphire before about this problem? Do you have the Logitech software installed?

Installed the logitech Game Pannel 2.02 software, haven't got in contact with Sapphire yet, but will. Im nearly convinced to just leave it and get the Razer Lycosa atm.

No reason to buy a new keyboard just yet. The G15v2 is a great keyboard, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be working.

Try it without the software installed, try different USB ports, a USB port off a port from an add-in header, and see if anything changes.

BTW, my favorite Sapphire mobo is this one, which I originally thought of:

will try that in a bit, also noted other people with the same board have got the same problem.

In one of the systems my dad is building he will be using that motherboard.

Maybe look into which USB controller they're using on the board. Maybe it has an incompatibility with the G15v2.

Just called logitech support, and first off all they denied (the person i was talking to) that they would believe me and went on about people not knowing how to use their products, in which i quickly said i build systems etc and knew about them.

But i've got a stage futher they are now going to investigate the problem and see if it is compatibilty problems with the Motherboard.

Sounds like at least you're making progress. And don't take it personally. It's their job to ask stupid questions like "Is it plugged in?" so they don't do any more work than they need to. It happens all the time.

What about a simple solution and try out using a USB to PS2 adapter and see if it will allow the shutdown?

Logitech software installed

I just hooked up my Logitech keyboard and mouse combo and it work never installed the software

Did you make sure your USB controller in the BIOS is set to highspeed and not fullspeed?

its probably something in your bios.. on some mobos, you can boot the comp with usb and what not.

i had the opposite happen to me. i couldnt get the computer to go into windows. it would just sit at the loading screen for ever.

bios update solved it though.

you may check your sata cables. i have had that prevent a machine from booting a few times.

Hey Guys.

Found this thread when I was searching for a sollution to my problem. It´s the EXACT same problem as Chris got. The computor wont shut down unless I pull the plug to my new G15 keyboard. Well, it shuts down but then restarts immediatly...

I´ve updated BIOS, try different USB-ports, updated windows as much as possible. Even went back to the store and got yet another keyboard. Same problem...
I think the problem is related to Windows Vista 64 bit. I red somewhere else about a guy with Vista 32 and there is some sort of "patch" for the keyboard if you have 32 bit but not for 64 bits...

7 blo*&dy phonecalls to Logitech support who still claims that I´m the only one in the world with this problem. Even sent some log-files to the Swiss Logitech support...

What I havent tried is using a USB -- PS2 adapter. Will try that after I´m done with my move to another house. Untill then, I´ll keep pulling the plug every day, lol.

Unless someone here finds a sollution

I got the same answer "claimed they didn't know how to use the keyboard"

got to phone Logitech back, as they apparntly might have found the problem but when i got home from college it was about 5:30PM and i couldn't be bothered, i will post what the phone call was about.

Make sure "Wake on Keyboard" is disabled in your BIOS(or any similar settings, it is labelled different by different board makers).
