Help! Q35 chipset - problems with HD4850

I changed my motherboard to an Asus P5E-VM DO and installed my 4850.

The problem is that although ATI Catalyst recognizes that the board is there, I can't get it to display anything.

I have PEG/IGD set in the bios for boot priority. I've tried enabling and disabling PEG port control.

I also tried disabling the IGD but since I couldn't see anything, I had to reset the bios.

Right now I have one port on the 4850 connected to my HDTV. The other is empty. I have the monitor connected to the IGD. But I don't see why that should matter. If there is any output from the card it should at least show up on the HDTV port - right?

Any idea what is going on?

System Specs

if you connect your monitor through the ports on the Mobo, it should be usable to troubleshoot.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers,
check power connections.
When you turn the PC on does the fan on the GPU spin?

By ports on the m/b I assume you mean the IGD (integrated graphics display). I have been using that since it seems to be the only port that works. As far as drivers and other software, that won't matter at boot up. However I will have to check to see if there is a firmware update and what it fixes. Right now it looks like I'll have to try another card. I need something with 2 outputs since this is being uses an HTPC.
