NDA has lifted...AMD's Revision C3 Revealed!

While some couldn't resist the urges to ignore the NDA and post early results, some waited and now are ready with a full and detailed analysis of AMD's latest revision silicon in their flagship processor.

This is the new AMD Phenom II 965 X4 BE Revision C3 under air, water, phase, dry ice and liquid nitrogen...as tested by the one and only Chew*.

Enjoy...

Sick revision of an already spanking chip, I want one to replace my 945ES.....4.2GHz+ AMD Quad would almost give me wood!

4.6 Ghz on just Air is awesome. Hopefully the Retail ones too hit 4+ Ghz easy.

Sorry, but I can't say that I'm all that impressed. Seems like a relatively small step to me. Some of the better current chips perform about the same.

I agree, but that's one area that doesn't really benefit the performance of these AMD cpus. Sure, it goes higher, but going higher doesn't translate to better performance in this case.

That's just plain wrong. Increasing NB/IMC speed greatly improves efficiency if these chips.

I thought he was referring to the IMC's ability to clock the ram higher. If not, then my bad.

Still isn't an impressive leap tho. It's still a small step no matter how you look at it.

As quad core chips go, these are still cheap and do all I want for gaming. Deffinitely getting one. Great review.

On air, it would only make 125th place on the TPU wall of pi here so I think you are right.

Ya I'd like to see the Athlon II X4 BE based around this Stepping except with 4x1MB L2, and Perhaps a Slightly Larger L1 say 192 KB per Core. For some Reason I believe that AMD needs to kill the Phenom Name, Use the Athlon Name as the Top, the Duron as the Mid Ground and the Sempron as the Budget.
