This game has all the stuff we loved about the Baldur's Gate series, and then ratchets it up a couple more levels. It has the turned base feel of "Betrayal at Krondor" when you pause to make desicions and the just enough depth of party control to make you scream "Crap, why did I have him do that?!?!" lol
I set it on normal and am dying pathetically. Just like a good rpg should be when your tactics aren't worth a crap as you get used to the game. On normal difficulty, you get almost no pampering. Health potions are there but do not drop like snowflakes to keep your sorry butt alive. You can make decent cash by selling items, but the alure to get better stuff has to be offset by how bad you want to heal yourself (speaking from playing the warrior class). Clicking like mad on the health potions does not do insta-heals like in other games. Crap armor + anywhere after the opening story = death. Good armor - health potions = die slower, but die anyway. Good armor + health potions - good tactics = die even slower, but die anyway. Good armor + healthpotions + run away - good tactics = die even slower but pathetically. Good Armor + health potions + party members + run away - good tactics = just a downright embarrassing death to you and all your friends. This is indeed a rpg'er nerd game in the finest sense. I am going to have to have great willpower to get anything done around the house with this on my computer. Old Uncle Kreij's verdict : Spectacular Disclaimer : I'm a HUGE rpg nerd.

Some videos for this game blow me away and others look meh, most likely will be picking it up here in a few days though as I'm sure it will be worth it. Looks most like KOTOR in a Oblivion setting.

Is this game as good as borderlands, if it is I might have to get it, I'm happy developers are going back to making fun games instead of boring ones that only look good.
also the cpu i use is the slowest desktop c2d based cpu but its a@ 4Ghz now, think it will do this game good, it handles borderlands like its nothing at 1680x1050 |

This game is simple enough to be run on console. Just like KOTOR sorta. What tactics have you guys learned?

Really? I play on normal difficulty and beat him with two warriors (me and Alistair) + that random mage. Cost me lots of potions tho, that grab move is a real pain. My guy is built quite high in Constitution tho, so I could take a few hits while I set the Mage's tactic for highest DPS possible. Good fight. |

The only thing i have heard about this game, other then good graphics is Horrible AI.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al61HGGraoc Especially against ranged. Want to win the game, play a archer or ranged character.

I have a question of my own. Is it a different story line for each class or does everyone go to the Fade? I'm a mage btw and I seem to be surrounded by other mages. |

Mages and warriors definitely have seperate beginning story lines. As for rogues and warriors, i'm not too sure. I think maybe it depends on your background (Not necessarily race). But i'm sure the story lines all merge after your first boss kill. I doubt a mage would become a Grey Warden, but I can see them going to the same camp as the wardens.

Using ranged weapons has always made it easier to "win" in every rpg I've played.
But I guess that if you want to just win the easiest way possible you should just look for console cheats or whatever. I personally like to play the characters/classes that have the worst chance of winning to see if my tactics and abilities as a gamer can overcome the odds. That's just me though. ![]()

Anyone but me a bit upset that there's DLC from day one? I can accept that people that bought SUper Gold Platinum Limited Pimp Editions get some goodies, but I just dont like it when they release a game, and at the same time they say "hey we also cooked up an "expansion", but you have to pay another $7 for it". It's just... retarded.
