Blocky Video in Win 7

This happens in all players except windows media player :-(

Any fix? Is it a bug or have MS done this to encourage use of WMP?

EDIT: This was in VLC player, the "SAW V" on the wall looks blocky

Make sure that you have hardware acceleration turned on in the otehr players, and that your codecs are all installed and current, and that you don't have three of the same type.

I actually find the codec pack that Win7 came with to be decent, and had more troubles with stuttering with CCCP, but I do use my Canon software to watch full HD uncompressed 25MBPS 1080 movies and a few other formats, it is much better. Unloke some other idiots with too many competing codecs installed I find the fewer the better. content plays smoothk, I can use my GPU for hardware acceleration.

Now as to WMP playig things well, is that a problem? I know everone hates MS, as they are moneygrubbing bastard who are turning the world into zombie nazis and want to burn every minority with fire and kill unborn children and rape your dog. Or not, totally your call.

I haven't noticed anything like this when using PowerDVD, haven't got around to installing VLC yet though.

What other media players have you tried? On of the good things about VLC is that it will play just about everything, one of the bad things is that it doesn't really play anything well...

Did a bit of research and found that the newest version of VLC (1.0.3) fixes the issue

I was about to suggest updating as that issued was in 0.99 or so. But it's fine in 1.03.
