Keyboard/Mouse Lock Up on Startup / Vista x64

Hi I am having trouble with my computer right now. When I start up my PC the keyboard and mouse are locked up or wont respond on the vista logon screen. I cannot log on to my pc unless i put in my password. Right before this happened they were both working fine, but i rebooted my pc after it was on for a couple days to free up memory space and when it rebooted windows updated itself and when it got to the logon screen neither my keyboard nor my mouse would respond. I have unplugged both devices and replugged them back in, I have changed their USB ports, I have rebooted into safemode, and switched out keyboards, but no matter what they seem to not respond at all. I am running off of windows vista x64 with a saitek eclipse II keyboard and a razer diamondback mouse. I do not no what else to do and I am looking for assistance on troubleshooting the problem. Also the keyboard works properly when i am in bios.

Have you looked in the BIOS depending on the motherboard sometimes they have a setting in the BIOS that can help. The setting usually has to do with using either USB keyboard support or PS2 keyboard support. Also there are other settings in there that might help as well. Take a look I don't see why an Windows Vista update would have anything to do with that but it couldn't hurt Let us know if it works.

Ive gone into the bios and theres nothing that will help me out on it. I can only enable and disable USB function. I have set usb legacy to enabled and auto and the keyboard and mouse will not respond
