Comp Shutsdown in Crysis Warhead
Hey everyone i need help, i just installed Crysis Warhead so i thought i would load it up and give it ago but, a few minutes in once i'm actually in the game the whole Computer just turns off and stays off until i turn it back on, then it just tells me windows shut down unexpectly as if i had just turned it off at the power or by the comp without going through the usual shutdown. So my suspicions are that i either have a faulty PSU or a faulty HDD, of course it could be other things such as GPU,ram etc but you would think with those being the problem it would at least glitch a bit and go to Blue Screen of death before turning off. Please Help me THNX

Could be a bad PSU, or something severely overheating and forcing an immediate hardware shutdown.

I know if Intel CPU's overheat the system will automatically shut down.
Also if the PSU overheats it could shutdown if it has that kind of protections

Do you have NVIDIA 191.07 driver version cause there are numerose reports of it causing the fan not to spin up under increasing heat with 200 series cards so it could be your GFX that causes this crashes and you might want to try to fix the fan speed to 70% or 80% with Riva Tuner or EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner or VTune etc. and then game to see if that helped.

also maybe add a little 80mm fan near it to help with cooling, what kind of cooling do you have on that overclocked q6600?

I'm rolling on a TRUE with 2 S-Flex fans Push-Pulling, but i'm pretty positive now that it's not the temps i ran a max heat Prime 95 at 3.2 Ghz and it ran fine for around 5 min, no crashes.I have also downclocked my CPU now to stock, and i'm still getting this crash. I also tried spinning my GTX 295 at 80% fan speed to no avail. : (

well i don't think its a heat issue with the cpu, still wondering about the video though. there is one way that can force that fan to 100%, but its not through software lol. If you want you could try wiring the gpu fan directly to the power supply 12v power... just plug the power to the yellow wire on one of the 4pin plugs. i've done it with cpu fans before. i'm sure there's an adapter or something like that out there somewhere. it might be loud too.
