Radeon HD 5850 is getting more expensive.

You gotta love supply and demand.

Radeon HD 5850 is getting more expensive
Apparently AMD is selling quite a lot of Radeon HD 5850s at the moment. But due to higher production costs, the company will increase the price of the DirectX 11 graphics card.
The AMD/Ati Radeon HD 5850 is supposed to become a little more expensive. It has already been rumored on the internet for quite some time, but now it has been confirmed that AMD will increase the price of the Radeon HD 5850. According to recent media reports, the Radeon HD 5850 is selling better than expected and thus the board partners of AMD would be charged an additional amount of 15 to 20 USD. When asking AMD about the alleged price increase for the Radeon HD 5850 PC Games Hardware received the following statement from AMD's Michael Schmid:
Due to the fast ramp of the ATI Radeon HD 5800 series at a time when the worldwide economy is showing a stronger than expected recovery, AMD has incurred higher component, memory and logistics costs. While many of our products are impacted by these increased costs to varying degrees, we are only adjusting pricing on the ATI Radeon HD 5850. We are confident that even with this price change, the ATI Radeon HD 5850 continues to offer outstanding performance for the enthusiast community. The ATI Radeon HD 5000 graphics cards remain the only DirectX 11 products in the market today and the immersive ATI Eyefinity experience is only possible on ATI Radeon graphics.

HD5850's haven't even been available where I live, so we're double screwed.

Damn you nVidia (&ATI), this is what happens when one of you drops the ball.
