Cleaning my laptop LCD monitor - apparently I mucked up...

A couple of months ago I used a type of liquid... it's similar to that Armorall white liquid... At first my screen was beautiful, then a couple of hours later it was all greasy and smeared.

I can't get rid of the grease/smear.
I've tried dry microfibre, humid microfibre, microfibre with hand-soap then humid microfibre then dry microfibre...

My monitor's just as greasy as if I smeared it with dirty cooking oil.

Any ideas on what I can do?

Try Windex but put it on the rag or paper towel DO NOT spray directly on the monitor. Maybe some alcohol wipes also it cuts grease pretty good.

Next time, don't clean laptop in kitchen
Now, I don't know if you should do that, but have you tried (pure) alcohol? It wiped everything away from my LCDs, and they didn't suffer any side effects.

It looks greasy but I don't know if it's grease.

I mean that Armorall Protectant type isn't supposed to have grease in it?

The Armorall products leave a slippery film on what you clean with them. I don't recommend them for vinyl or leather either. Especially don't clean a steering wheel with it!!

i got some alcohol wipes for my car windscreen, and they seem to work well in situations like this.

alternate between an alcohol cleaning solution and a dry cloth, and you should slowly mop the crap up.

And since no one else has done it...

These three suggestions will work for you. Or you can try Professor Amos Shock It Clean as well.

Yup I'm sure it's a type of wax.

Will surgical spirit work the same way as an alcohol solution? (It is an alcohol solution...) that's what I have in the house atm... Apart from white wine... :/
