A quad for this board p35-ds3r
I have a p35-ds3r rev 2.1 and looking for a quad. I game more than video coding and I will also oc a bit.
So how does Q6700 sounds ? AND does the stepping matter in compatibility of that board? Price range is limit from 100-120 and im willing to buy used chip (anyone selling one ? )Last edited by JanJan; 11-07-2009 at 08:44 PM. |

True, but if you can get a smokin deal on a 65nm quad and don't NEED a 4GHZ quad, you don't need a 45nm chip. Frankly I'm still pretty damn content with my q6600 @ 3.6 on air w/o issues, was an easy 1.2ghz oc to achieve, and keep the chip cooled under my xig. So it depends on the deals you can find, and how much you want to spend, if you plan to OC or not, and if you have decent cooling for the quad, it doesn't matter if it's 45nm or 65nm, when stressed and OC'd they'll both put out some serious heat.
