You'll love it! My friend upgraded from an 8600GTS (probably a bit faster than the 6800) to a 9800GTX+, and the difference was amazing. It ran a bit hotter, but games that he was getting 20-25FPS in he was then getting 75! The GTS 250 is a very powerful card, so when you build/buy a new computer you will be able to transfer over the 250 and get even better performance

LOL, I remember when the 6800 first came out. It was a monster card...

How things change

Yeah I know, I had a look at that deal, but dealt with Amzon before, they usually deliver it on time.

Paid a few quid extra for peace of mind.

i guess although ebuyer is definitely one of the best websites to go to for desktop components and scan aswell, normally if you put delivery on say free delivery and it estimate of 5 days, they normally just give you next day postage.
+1 on your purchase

You'll do fine. Just make sure to hook up the PCIe power cable when it's installed, try to only handle the card by the edges, and make sure that it is firmly inserted into the PCIe slot.

Welcome to TPU is the best source of info and humor on occasions

Good snag on the BFG, and they have a good warranty program.
Youll be fine, just ask about anything, they will jump all over to help!!

I try to add to what ever firsthand experience I have had when I can make a good contribution[ at least I hope to]

Ok managed to open up my Dell XPS, found the 6800 graphics card, pulled it out and put in my GTS 250 (wow it feels heavy)...and then for a few moments my heart stopped as I didn't see the 6-pin connector come out of the 6800!

I though damn I don't have it...but I looked through the tangle of wires and saw behind the mess, the 6-pin conector all tied up ready to use! Was so happy.

After installing the new drivers, I'm so happy I made the plunge.

I can run Dragon Age max setting with no slowdown.

I plan to buy GTA 4 tomorrow and I know that will be the true test.

Thanks everyone in giving me confidence buying and installing the card.

For £100 it feels I'm playing with a new machine

If you have an old video card, a new one really makes an incredible difference. I used to have a Geforce 8600GTS 256mb in my old computer, and then I spent $100 US (not sure how many £'s it is) and picked up a pair of Geforce 9600GSO 768mb cards to run in SLI, and it was incredible. Everything was so much smoother, and I could actually game at the native resolution of my LCD
