This is because "takeown.exe" included in the "HAL modification tool" is v6.1.7600.16385 (suitable for Windows 7). If you use the "takeown.exe" included in the "\Windows\System32\" folder of your Vista, you will not get that error message anymore, as this one is v6.0.6001.18000 (suitable for Vista).

Now, I have a similar problem with the file "hal.dll" included in the "HAL modification tool" (the SLI-modified one): It's v6.1.7600.16385 (for Windows 7), so if you try to use it under Vista, it will not boot, as Vista SP2 x64 original "hal.dll" is v6.0.6002.18005.

So... Is there any MODIFIED "hal.dll" file with version 6.0.6002.18005 (for Vista SP2 x64) ??

Many thanks!!!

I had my first game crash with this SLI hack ! Damn, I'd call it stable even...~10hr MW2 and L4D2 with OC to both GPUs. L4D2 just terminated w/o cause. A Prime95 stable rig can cause lots of crashes (l4d), solution is often increasing the NB voltage..I did so prior to SLI hack..maybe raise NB even more, to 1.36v

edit //

my normal sli gaming freqs are not max freqs, more likely just under 50% of that max oc. I just tested full oc, l4d2 terminated again(15min), just like L4D used to do 8-9 months ago.
I don't think it's my gpus or their clocks: cpu, mem nb, volts...my Q9650 has degraded some, maybe even more. Never had a 8hr P95 from this cpu, only tested up to 4hr OK

edit ///

hahahahahaha ! I set stock gpu freqs and played L4D2...felt like vsync (mouse lag) but I had 70fps etc...finished a campaign and i checked evga precision: 50C and 2D clocks !
