Nvidia Physx- The Proof is in the video!

So, I've been working on this a bit and had some recent issues trying to figure out how to get new drivers to work after installing a new game with Physx (Sacred 2) and having it crash (thanks Liandri/THETA for the mod, works great!) I was posting in a thread on here and someone asked "Why bother?" He was saying that 2 ATI cards would give better performance and that Physx is dead.

P.S. I ran this test with a 4870X2 and 9600GT. I was previously running 2 3870's in Crossfire with the same 9600GT. All that the 4870X2 allowed me to do was run with a few more things turned up. The Physx properties only changed when I installed the new drivers.

I haven't played Sacred 2 yet, but I want to, probably pick it up this weekend.

Anyway, I will say Batman:AA actually was far more enjoyable to play with PhysX. It really gave the game a much better atmosphere. There are several parts of the game that really benefit from the PhysX, such as the scene where you are running down the hallway under Scarcrow's drugs. Without PhysX, nothing really happens, at one point a desk moves and a few blocks of paper fall off(the blocks of paper are like reams), and another part some trash cans fall over. With PhysX, when the desk moves, individual papers go flying around, and the trash cans are filled with cans that scatter all over the ground.

Honestly this has been discussed before and I'm rather tired of the conversation. I really don't see how PhysX is necessary in that game either. I've seen physics in games that is comparable to that not using the PhysX marketing machine.

It's not to retort, it was so others could see what PhysX is/does. That other post doesn't have anything to do with that video if someone were to search for such a thing on this forum. I saw no reason to hijack that thread into a "PhysX is the best thing in the world" rant, nor am I trying to do so in this one. Just showing what's out there for options to everyone and anyone interested!
