No, this is still in XP. I haven't bothered with Vista yet since getting the card.

I would say, if you bring up around 30 or more FPS in the GPU test, your just fine....and it is normal for it to be jerky in spots. But, if you get like low 20's or less.....something is-a-foot.

What is 'jerky' is very subjective. My game gets jerky too on high settings 1680x1050 on rig in system specs when there is a lot of firing going around.

It's more noticeable if you count fps.

Sometimes it's better if you don't count fps at all though... I never realised Oblivion could was jerky before I started using fps counter... It made me see the fps dips.

True, but...not plenty. My 3GHz Athlon, was jerky aswell. My C2D, is not jerky nearly as much, it is much smoother, even at lower clock speeds.

I keep it very clean, and it's a fresh install as of a couple months ago. I'll see how good of settings I can get with 1280x1024 sometime.

Haha, I'm not an Intel fanboy....I'm an AMD fanboy, I really didn't want to go to Intel, but there just much more powerful. AMD just aren't as smooth and quick as a C2D, its a known fact.

About his issues, if the gameplay at all high is smooth, but gets choppy during say, start of a new area, or in alot of action....that is normal. Most computers experience the same thing, Crysis is a hog.

Could you please post a screenshot of the games in-game benchmark?

Try with OC too, to see if it's make a difference but you have some problems there.I don't want to make you to think that it should run very very well or perfect cause in a little proportion the CPU is limiting the entire PC but it shouldn't have so big impact on the performance as you said;so goodluck

How many FPS it scores on 1280 all high?Mein (X2 4000+ @ 3GHZ & 9600GT OC) scored 33,5 with 1280 all high but how I've said I lowered a bit to run more smooth.

I reckon its the drivers since I installed 174 I had pretty crappy performance on CoH and now come to think of it CivIV but haven't tested crysis yet.

Thats hilarious trolling.

My 9600gt SLI does fine at High settings in 1600x1200 in Crysis.... so why is the 9800gtx having trouble?

I had an issue like this before with an ati card stuttering low FPS......, all it was in the end was to update my MB drivers NB,SB and i had perfect frame rates no stuttering ...etc but i see ur mobo is fairly new, just throwing my 2p into the pot.

Cheers
