2900 XT [and others?] VIVO FIXED!!!

i finaly got VIVO [video in] working in VISTA

you need the WDM_ALL directory from the CATALYST 6.2 beta 2 install
you just install that and then yay VIVO magicaly stops crashing windows.

i suggest useing media player classic you just go to file then open device and the rest you can figure out on your own

to get the WDM_ALL directory just, download catalyst 6.2 beta 2 [for xp!!!] and try to install it and itl make a folder somewhere to put the install files and you grab it outa there

if anyone needs any help getting it to work let me know, i think this is for other cards too, or even non videocards? anything with the theater 200 chip[?]

Is this still the only fix for ATI VIVO or has ATi fixed it?

I have been trying to get my VIVO to work with Vista for a While now with no luck.

Where is the 6.2 beta 2?

I only see 6.2 only

I currently have tried a VCR, HDTV Turner, VIDEO CAM, = no source detected

Also, tried just every program listed for Capture

sorry its hard to find ancient files from beta drivers heh...

yeah im really glad anyone was able to figure out something... i wouldnt have gotten a 2900xt if i knew vivo was going to be that big of a problem, and all of that vista cant do analog video is a lie, they just broke the drivers and never fixed them [on purpose?]

All I can say is a big thank you for getting this to work. I have many old VHS tapes of my family and when I used to race that I wanted to transfer to DVD but sadly my ATI HDTV capture device as well as my 2900xt would not work. I got this setup tonight as per your instructions and files and bang it works!! I am so grateful for saving me the cash, I was about to go out and purchase a capture device.

You know this even works with the ATI HDTV Wonder Card.

Ok the only issue I am having is when I try and record/capture it locks up after a few seconds and I have to kill WMC classic... Any ideas? My hardware is more then enough powerful enough.

I solved the issue on lockups, now using Pinnacle 12.1, ditched media player classic and I am able to capture using Composite as it does not like the S-Video...
