Not sure if I should have just posted this in the thread started by MonicaAMD, but I believe the pictures/videos and the discussions to follow deserve its own thread. If not, please merge/delete this :)

Videos are uploading right now, with pictures to follow :)

I went with my friends Kristine, Akira, and Robert. Try to figure out who I am in any of the pictures :-P

My thoughts on the event
I must admit, I didn't know whether or not I'd be more excited by being on an aircraft carrier or being at an ati/amd event. Getting in was as simple as showing my ID to some guy at the front, who let my friend Robert go ahead for some reason. Free schwag was given! :) We were given a 1gb amd dog chain "jump drive," a patch that says AMD/ATI then "USS Hornet" at the bottom. Free stuff ftw!

Walking into the actual event area, I felt like a little kid. So many screens, "important people," and good looking women! I must bold this next part because all you guys will be jealous. Besides the free catered food, and guys walking around offering yummy plattered treats (along with pasta and sloppy joes/pulled porked sandwiches), well.........FREE BOOZE! Yeah that's right, all the beer (there were about 6 different types to choose from) and wine (red/white) you could drink. :rockout::pimp:

The actual demo stations were very nice. Left 4 Dead on a screen that was about 20 feet super wide was crazy. Grid/Dirt 2 on three fourty foot projectors screens was crazy, as well as that new thing they have going with 24 monitors connected. It seems really cool, but I don't see it being functional or practical for 99.9% of the general populace. There were also computers/monitors showing off games such as GTA4 and Bioshock 2 (I think it was 2!) Overall, it was a great environment with loud music and tons of food/drink for everyone.

Now onto the announcement. I forgot the guys name, but he talked about Vision, which I still don't fully understand. To be honest, I lost interest in what he was saying and what his "guests" from various companies talked about. Seems like a big marketing thing. After about 20 minutes, everyone was set loose.

BUT HEY GUESS WHAT. Remember those computers with the game demos running? For some reason, they were taken away when we came back from the balcony for fresh air. That's right, all those fancy demos, GONE. I don't understand why they made this decision, but I'm guessing it's because the turnout was not as high as they expected. Also, there was no talk whatsoever about DX11 or the new graphics cards. I was disappointed in regards to that.

Oh, the women that were there to attract attention, my gosh.

It was a great night that started off fantastic but by the end I thought to myself, "Is that it?" A lot of hype, but nothing new that we haven't seen or expected. I've never been to an event like this though, but it was still a great experience :)

Photos of the Experience Event girls I hope ;)

Oh don't get me started on those girls they pay to walk around lol. They were gorgeous, but stayed in packs so it was quite obvious. My first thought when I saw them was "What the fawk, why the hell would they be here?" No pictures, it would have been too obvious as I would have had to use flash with the HORRIBLE lighting in the place :(

Pictures or videos first?

Let us drool over the pictures while the videos upload!

Uploading 125 pictures to photobucket on dial up, this will take a while..

Er. Why not be a bit more selective and show us your top 5 pictures here on TPU? You need to install this software http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=103604. It will AUTOMATICALLY UPLOAD the screenshots to TPU. You can't imagine how easy it is until you try TPU Capture!

That program says it can not register the hot key :( Blah photobucket is hanging at the first picture!! :(

Wow every method I am trying keeps on failing wtf!

TPU Capture would be the easiest. Set it to CTRL + PRNT SCRN and drag a box around the opened image.

Link to photobucket album posted in OP. I upgraded to PB pro for a month to get better resolution pictures up for you guys.

Cool pictures, well done :)

Thanks mate! The orange tint in the lighting made taking pictures really tricky :(! I tried my best though.

Videos are uploading right now.

.....The first batch, at least.

I Want that racing setup

You're the guy on the left, because he looks more like Psyduck then the guy on the right.

No I'm on the right actually, making a stupid face that I regret :nutkick:

I added some thoughts on the thought :)

Looks like your signature photo expression to me: :p

Thanks for the pics of the event, shame you couldn't have "borrowed" one of their demo machines...

Did they have any demos of the AVP game playing?

...Yes my photoshopping skills aren't what they used to be :(

Thanks for that pic :rockout: There wasn't a demo :( Just that image but rotating around the alien and predator.

Anyone want to see the free swag? I got an ATI Ruby figure :)

Its too bad they (AMD) dosent spend a bit more time getting the comp community interested and on board . Nvidia and Intel seem to do a better job but it seems to me AMD has always been at the back of the pack, Event wise.
Its a real shame as I think AMD modders, builders would be more supportive than the Intel guys are (just a feeling)

99.9% of my mods have been AMD and TPU has always been an AMD/ATI friendly forum for quite a while.

Thanks a lot for the picts and the critique, and if any AMD reps see this "GIVE US MORE NOTICE GOOFBALLS!"

I agree. The event was not as organized as it should have been. A lot of the things we were told would happen, did not. :(

Videos uploading on youtube right now. Should I post a link to my profile there or post the videos on here? They are in 720p.

how about a link on the first post?

Link to my youtube channel posted. The videos that have uploaded so far are in there. I only some of them up :( Youtube is slow!
