I have a disc from gateway for 32-bit home premium that came with a computer I bought from them...I wonder if I can "upgrade" to the 64-bit win7 premium?

Na, I would think that you will not be able to download the os for another month...But it claims that once you recieve the confirmation email, you can purchase, and download????? Hmmmm, That makes me wonder also!!!

None the less, thanks a ton for this awesome find 95Viper:rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout:

Well I just went through the motions, and am currently waiting on the confirmation email.......Will let everyone know how this goes!

Yep, its a pre-order. Students will not be able to download until the 22nd of October. But none the less, its still a killer deal. My college deals with "Digital River" for many other things, so they are a legit download for Microsoft.
Oh, and it allows you to preorder either 32bit, or 64bit.

Done, and done LOL. Once the digital download is available, they will send a notice to your academic email address.

Please do Caboose. As I am also a student graduating in Jan 2010, I would hate to miss out on such a sweet deal. Nice find.
edit: I hope this applies to 64-bit versions as well.

I just got my email verified, do I have to pay now or is it safe to wait a few weeks then do it? Also, it was confirmed that if you have an activated Win7RC that you can use an upgrade disk like this, but you will have that Windows.OLD folder, right?

Seems like a great deal, just a little hesitant to put my CC info on there.

Thanks

You have till the end of January, so you can wait until it is released on October 22nd. The site is a legit MS partner. I purchased Office 2007 from the same site a few months ago. They hold all of the student deals for MS.
