Another fine piece of work! It plays well with CCC and EXPERTool running and will work on an IceQ 4+ Turbo. Hats off to the both of you.

So does your MSI card have to support voltage control to be able to tweak the voltage? Cause I'm not able to use it in the program.

It has to have a programmable voltage controller like the VT1165 or VT1103/1105

Why cant there just be one overclocker tool for video cards instead of 3 or more? And all the ones i know of are made by the same person.

MSI Afterburner doesn't play well with the 4800's Powerplay... Or at least in 2 cases for me it didn't.

If I up the memory, on idle it downclocks to stock clock speeds(so from 1100 to 975) and the screen flickers each time it changes the memory clock.

Hey this is slick I was just wondering about this program. Alright this next week I will be buying either a 5850 or a 5870 I've been wishy washy (don't ask I'm worse than a girl with this!) But this thread might be able to answer one of my questions. With MSI after Burner here are my questions I can't find a straight answer with them.....

1. does the voltage tuning work with all 5850's or does it take a BIOS flash?
2. With MSI AfterBurner even if you don't mess with the voltage will it let you overclock the 5850 past 775MHZ. This is most important because I see that ATI's CCC won't let you and that sucks! Because these cards have so much potential! Or do you need another program to be able to do this?
3. If it does let you go past 775 MHZ will it let you do that with any brand or just MSI's.

4. Any of thes questions also answered but applied to the 5870's

Thanks guys..... ANd buy the way congradualtions on your 5800 purchase.

This is a pretty cool program. The only thing I don't like is that it limits my voltage on my XFX 4890 to 1.33 (stock 1.31). I'm able to go higher with GPUTOOL... Hopes this helps in any way...

* Fixed on-board memory size detection for AMD RADEON HD 5000 series graphics cards
* Now option also affects voltage control
* Fixed database entry for AMD RADEON HD 4890 series graphics cards. Afterburner no longer adjusts 2D voltage instead of 3D voltage on AMD RADEON HD 4890
* Fixed database entry for AMD RADEON HD 5850 series graphics cards. Afterburner no longer adjusts UVD voltage instead of 3D voltage on AMD RADEON HD 5850
* Automatic profiles manager is now restarted after resuming from suspended mode
* Revised VRM access synchronization protocol for safer simultaneous VRM polling by multiple software products at the same time
* Added setting to the context menu of detached hardware monitor window. When this option is disabled, hardware monitor window can be minimized to the taskbar while staying in detached mode
* Now it is possible to pause hardware monitor activity via option in the context menu of hardware monitor window

hmm,, afterburner 1.2 still doesnt allow to overclock past catalyst limits of 775/1125 for 5850..
but the voltage works, so it's good...using Amd gpu clock tool to go past the limits..
bios upgrade is available to raise those limits in catalyst,, too cautious with bios updating

Yeah see there's a better answer to what I was looking for. I have never updated a BIOS on a GPU. Not that I'm worried on my skills with that. Cause I'm sure I would manage but.... That is really risky on Video cards. Voids all types of stuff. (Not that my Over clcoking and other mods don't anyway) But it just seams really risky!

This new version is constantly automatically adding stupid RUN entry in registry which is starting to piss me off. I run this thing through Task Scheduler with highest privileges so i don't have to deal with UAC dialog on startup. But Afterburner is adding startup entry regardless of what i set in Afterburner (Start with Windows is not even checked). I hope they'll fix this because it's really getting on my nerves. 1.2.0 wasn't doing anything like this :/

EDIT:
Went back to version 1.2.0 and it starts fine with elevated rights through Task Manager. And one would expect new version to work better instead worse. Version 1.2.0 it is then until MSI fixes this...

EDIT2:
Now thats uber weird. I have to run AsterburnerWrapper.exe with /s first and then Afterburner.exe after it. First one to start the thing and second one to load the OC settings. I have absolutely no idea why it's this complicated when they know large majority of users is affected by UAC. Most of other tols are far more simple but often have problems with drivers that aren't signed, In this case they are signed, but the startup process of the program is awkward to the max.

Is there any way to load certain profile withing MSI Afterburner by using command line switches?

Like:
MSIafterburner.exe -profile1

This would load profile stored under profile slot 1. Is this possible?

You need an unlocked BIOS for that or AMD GPU Tool

Anyone knows how to load some profile through command line ?

RivaTuner is suppose to be using this method:

C:\Program Files\RivaTuner\RivaTuner.exe /L:"<OBJECT_NAME>"

So i assume MSI Afterburner is using same method. But i have no clue what object it's suppose to be there and in what form. I've tried "Profile 1" and "Profile1" but nothing worked.
Documentation regarding this is is lousy like hell for both, MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner.
Just a stupid and rather useless FAQ and arrogant author.

I need this to load MSI Afterburner under Win7 with elevated rights so i don't have to answer crappy UAC popup. Because auto loading is doing that and i hate it. Doing it through Task Manager loads it great, but now i also have to supply command line to load profile when it does start, so i don't have to load it manually (mostly for fan profile).
