Anyone who know a vmod guide to a Sapphire X1600XT 256mb gdr3, and does it work in crossfire with two of them without a master card???

Yes to use x1600xt in crossfire you want two preferably identicle crossfire ready x1600xt's (theres no such thing as a master card or crossfire editions for these gpu's) you will need a pretty hefty 12v rail on your PSU to run crossfire or SLI.

and unless youve got some serious cooling for your GPU you should not Vmod the x1600xt. they run hot enough as it is.

ram sinks and a large VGA silencer/exhaust or heatpipe and fan combo with some good thermal compound would be prefered.

The stock single slot exhaust fans that most of the x1600xt come with barely keep the card cool enough to not fry out.

thanks for answering, i have pretty good cooling already a modded Arctic Freezer pro with a tornado 120mm and swiftech BGA ramsinks, and i already have a X1900XTX card that runs great both on air and DI/LN2, but this new rigg wich i shal run with X1600XT in CF mode is just for fun and playing games, and it's great that theres no master to run theese card in CF mode....

no, running two x1600xt's requires no extra cable or hardware, they will communicate over the PCI bus on the motherboard. so simply you find out which PCI-E slot is master, and which is slave, plug in both video cards, plug your monitor into the master slot and enable crossfire in catalyst control center and youre done. to verify a change, turn off crossfire, run 3dmark05, turn on crossfire, run 3dmark05. should be about 2200 gain. which is roughly an overclocked x1800XL (not XT)

I will be running two x1600XT's in crossfire within the next 3-4 months.

thanks now i know that:) and to find master and slave PCI-e slot is not a hard thing it is written on the board towards the PCI-e slots, and then i expect that if i should run singel it's in master slot the gfx will be installed, thanks for answering my questions:toast:

nice you should run X1600XT CF aswell:)

at 1,45v vgpu 641mhz and vdd at 2,15v 1512mhz what iv'e tested so far is very hot here but i gain 10 fps in nature in 3d01 will try to upper vdd a little more i think they will manage 20mhz gain, i'm running on air a modded cpu cooler on core and swiftech bga ramsinks and fans on them 2x80mm and the core is in idle at 1,45v 34c and after a run in nature about 38-39c...
BTW heres my ghetto cooled airbenchrigg..

will fix som better cooling like DI/LN2 container to the graph and cpu.
