Batman: Arkham Asylum 2

The most popular Batman: Arkham Asylum will be continued with a second part. The Joker is coming as the prime villain, but a release date has not been set yet.

What has been a rumor for quite some time already, has now been officially confirmed: Batman: Arkham Asylum is coming. But when the game is going to be released is kept a secret. It is also unclear if Batman 2 will again support GPU Physx effects. This feature made the first part the prime example for GPU accelerated physics effects but also was the reason why the PC version was released later than the PS3 or Xbox 360 variants.

A teaser video with render scenes that has been released indicates that Joker and Harley Quinn will be playing a role in Batman: Arkham Asylum, too. Up to now the official website of Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 does not offer significant information.

I wanna know the release date and how long they've been working on it. More so how long its been in production. I want this game now.

Best superhero game i have played to date no question about it.

Warner Bros. is taking over the role as sole publisher. Eidos has been pushed out, the first game having been signed before their acquision by Square Enix. Developer Rocksteady appears to be still on-board for this one.

As MDSX said, not a whole lot of info yet.

Yeah defienetly. It is the best supehero game. Its still in production and most likely will come in about August 2010.

TBH, i actually dont care who the publisher is or any of that crap just so long as nothing is taken away from the second game that was in the first. Most games pully off a shitty sequel and it ruins the franchise. Halo comes to mind. Not that Bungie ruined the game or anyting, its just that it got way over hyped and the second installment wasnt as good as it could have been. Same can be said for the third. Id be perfectly happy if the game was just as good as the first (talking Batman AA now). The game was great and I loved it. Might actually go play through it again right now.

I know there isnt a whole lot of info yet, but i still wanna know.

Two Face

Black Mask (AKA Roman Sionis)
Batman's go-to gangster villain was one of the clues in the first game (his mask was hiding in the doctor's office), but the giant Sionis sign seen in the trailer seems to imply that he'll play a much bigger role this time around.

Penguin
The Iceberg Lounge, the Penguin's Antarctic-themed restuarant, is seen as the trailer zooms through the streets of Gotham. Expect Chester Cobblepot to make a healthy showing.

The Joker & Harley Quinn
Although he's been clearly weakened by his brush with the super ooze in the first game, The Joker remains the one pulling the strings in the sequel, helped along by his trusty sidekick, Harley Quinn.

Killer Croc, Scarecrow or Bane?
The end of "Arkham Asylum" featured a teaser showing one of these three baddies reaching out of the murky depths to grab on to a box of the super Titan juice. The ending changed depending on your performance, but Rocksteady definitely left things open for any or all of these fine fellows to return.

Arkham Asylum wasn't bad but once I figured out there was no exploring Gothom City, that pretty much vacuumed the fun out of it. It goes without saying that there is a lot of room for improvement in the sequel.

And I think it will be the Killer Croc. You never really faced him in Arkham Asylum.

BM:AA was a great game but I was hoping for physics more exciting than what was given.

No one gives a fuck about flags or paper. We wan't destructible items ala FC2/RFG.

I just hope the second one isn't just a ploy to create a warner bros. payday. Selling off hype and the game means nothing.
