I have here 2 sets of RAM that I bought separately and installed believing to be identical.
Now when I've read some about memory I start to think that someone might have temper with the one set before selling it as to overclock them or something because on the outside they both have the same sticker saying the same thinks "OCZ2N1066SR2GK OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel" but CPU-Z shows them to be different .
I have now noticed that one of the packaging has a label under the label!
I piled this off and there says "OCZ2N10662GK" which is apparently different model of OCZ RAM.
My question is; Are those 2 completely different sets of ram and is there any way to make them work at 1066MHz together

have you tried the latest cpu-z (here);)
hm taking labels of might have voided your warranty although it might not have depending on who you purchased it off

i have heard of some ram being flashable but i've never done it (i think it's only the really expensive stuff)

if i were you i would try and send them back saying they aren't matching your other ram just don't tell them you took or peeled back any labels, do your research first before you attempt it, stay calm and focused and you should be ok

do they both have the serial numbers missing?

all ram is flashable using spd tool all ram. but this is very common with OCZ ram very common indeed flashing may or may not help. but the ram should run together as long as you set it manually in bios it has to. flashing should be a last resort

I did set it in bios and it works together @ 1066MHz but when tested it with "memtest"
I got some errors and this makes me think something is wrong! Also they have different timings for EPP which they are working at now and the “Memory” tab in CPU-Z shows 3th set of timings!
How is this happening?
Here are the error shots:

I once used this RAM. The SPD on the right of your screen shot looks like the version I got when first purchased but I had some stability issues. OCZ blamed the mobo for interpreting the SPD too agressively and provided me with a different SPD that looks a lot like the SPD on the left of your screen shot. It did fix some of the issues I had at the time but I can't recall now (too long ago). Updated SPD can be obtained from OCZ website if you search.

SPD tool is quick and easy to fix this. First copy BOTH SPD to your HDD. Then load one onto the other RAM. I would try the one on the left (edited) first.

IMO OCZ sold me RAM that had no headroom above the SPD settings. The Corsair RAM I use now has heaps (i.e. it is stable at faster speed/tighter timing). This headroom is what we mostly regard as the OC potential of the RAM but I also call it extra stability at rated specifications. Ya get what ya pay for mostly.

Edit: FYI, the mobo was a P5n32E-SLI, sound familiar? I dont use that any more either:). I strongly suggest you need to get both SPD the same and use the left hand one.

Hi Bundy
This is exactly what I did before.
I meant to copy the right one (Set 2) end overwrite the left (Set 1) at that time I told that 400MHz is bather then 333MHz.
But what I actually did is I somehow mixed them up and copy the Left Set (Set 1) over the
Right (Set 2) and If I get you right this is what you advice me to do.
Well I did it and after restart the flashed 2 sticks would not post any longer!
I fixed them (brought them to the way they were) in a rather risky way!
See here for more on how I fixed them: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=111200
Now I am back to square one!
Not an expert but my sense tells me that this two sets are not meant to work together!
P.S. I searched “ocztechnology.com” for “SPD’s” but no luck, do you by chance know where exactly I shall look?

Go to the OCZ forums and post your question there. If you do a search for your RAm on that forum, you will find quite a few people with the same problem. RyderOCZ should be able to help you there.
