D0 Runs cooler because it uses less volts to run at the same speed and the general rule of thumb is that it overclocks it better.

Performance is exactly the same however.

Their steppings (that's Dark).

So, different possible clocks at different voltages. I believe the D0 is better.

Their batches, yes?

So, different possible clocks at different voltages. I believe the D0 is better.

C0 and D0 are the stepping, batch # are a different bit of info for a chip.

Ok so for some one who does not want to OC too much it would be ok with a good CPU cooler such as a V10 or H50?

Those are processor revisions which means revised, or reprogrammed, and engineared better.

Now the d0 is the latest revision and numbers on all d0 processors have been insane hitting 4.0-4.5Ghz 24/7 stable at measly cold voltage which is great.

The C0 processors are the ones that first came out, and people can barly get them to run at 4.0Ghz 24/7

a D0 core i7 does 4.0ghz at 1.25volts or lower(most of them do)
a C0 core i7 does 4.0ghz at 1.35-1.45volts 24/7 (seen most do that)

I dont own a core i7 but i know D0 core i7's are so popular that even a 920 can be sold for 350 bucks because its a rare d0 and it overclocks so well.

It only matters to the overclocker what revisions processors are.

If you were getting an air cooler I'd get a Thermalright Ultra 120.

Honestly if you aren't going to OC much, get a different heatsink. Both those will be more money than you need, like DrPepper said, the Thermaltight Ultra 120 is a good option, so are the Xigmatek HDT series, and Prolimatch Megahalems, just be sure to get a better fan than the stock fan for any of those coolers (if they come with a fan).

It'd be fine, however I find it ironic how you picked the two coolers most people hate over here at TPU. I personally love the H50. :toast:
