GTS 250 screen flickering

I'm running an SLI set up on my GTS 250's. I'm using the 191.07 drivers and my screen is flickering like crazy. Just sitting in my desktop it'll drop the image for a second and then come back. It was 10x worse with the newest drivers so I rolled back to these drivers (which worked, but then I reinstalled win7 for my new HDDs). Could my HDMI cable be going bad possibly, or is this something else do you think?

W/E the problem is I've got a v1.4 hdmi cable on the way and if that doesn't fix it I'm selling these and buying either a radeon 5850 or 5870.

I would try change to DVI.
Sounds like an issue due to the HDMI as u already said.

It would be extremely strange if it was hardware related

I just reinstalled windows 7 (for the fifth time, part user error on the first couple but system error on the last) and after redoing it the flicker was gone.

It stayed working perfectly fine until I installed and updated MS security essentials. Immediately upon finishing its update the screen flickered twice in 5 seconds. I uninstalled it and the flicker hasn't come back. That's very interesting if that's what caused it; I'll for sure be keeping an eye on that.

wierd.

maybe, sometimes the installation of the nvidia drivers can be affected if u do not run the install as admin or have admin rights on your windows account.

ive never heard anything like this before... i have seen flickering in particular games before due to some minor error in directX, but nothing like this in windows...

Yeah, it started to flicker like crazy after I downloaded a program for my logitech G11 keyboard too. I uninstalled it and since getting rid of that and MS security essentials there hasn't been one screen flicker....

Oh Microsoft what ever shall we do with you?
