Well.... kinda, here's the specs:

mobo: ASRock 939DualSata2
CPU: AMD64 Athlon 3000+
Mem: 4GB DDR400
HDs: IBM 40GB + WD 120 GB (both IDE)
VC: nVidia FX 5600 AGP 3.0 (4x, 8x)
SC: Audigy SE
PS: 300 Watt

I got the mobo @ Goodwill, and the memory, CPU, and VC off craigslist, and the rest is my stuff from my old (current) computer. I'm not real moneyish at the mo, so that's why it's currently crap.

Anywho I rigged it all together, made sure all the jumpers were right, etc. and when I pressed the power button everything spun 'round and the lights went on, but it won't POST. I've tested the memory and video card on my current computer, and they all work (well, until I OC'd the video card and fried it good:banghead:, it was like 20,000 times better than the one I'm running now).

Anywho, I was wondering if it was a motherboard or CPU problem. I haven't tested the power supply but it seems to work for the drives and fans and whatnot, so I don't think that's the problem.

Well, I don't have any laying around, so I'll try to get one from a friend. Hopefully I'll get it working by Sunday.

Yeah, it turns out the mobo needs a little 4-pin connector (hiding from me behind a few capacitors) and the PSU didn't have anything to put in there, after swapping PSUs to one that did it booted up all nice-like.

Now to get some thermal paste and a heatsink for the CPU.

Did you reset the BIOS when you got the board?

Yea i had a 3400+ Socket 754 setup with AGP pro and it was GREAT!

if you can find this "Future CPU Port: Supports CPU upgrade from AMD K8 939-Pin CPU to AM2 940-Pin CPU through AM2 CPU Board (optional)" Then you can put a AM2 x2 chip on that board!

LOL i have seen one of these boards up close back when they came out. my friend built a computer with it and had the add on card but never used it. The heatsink wouldnt work on the add on card due to weight and size. It touched the motherboard so it was a no go

it looks a good idea ,i thought it was an agp port at first untill i looked closer ,it says it needs a Yellow-colored ASRock Future CPU Port  :D

oh and no wonder it wouldn't boot up with a 300watt :shadedshu

yea in theory its a good board but when you start trying to use the AM2 with a HSF bigger than stock it becomes a pain cause of weight and size

I saw that earlier today (seems newegg doesn't sell 939s anymore), but I can't find any place that sells them. I haven't really looked either, but Fry's and newegg don't sell them and they're usually the places I look first.

@t_ski: Yeah, I had the battery unplugged for like a week or so. Hope that did it :).

Only if you had the jumper in the "clear" position, too.

Since when? It usually clears just fine when you just leave the battery out.

I'll have to take a look.

Depends on the motherboard mostly, I guess. I had some DFI boards that were notorious for not wanting to clear. Had to remove the power cables, take the battery out, put the clear jumper on, wait three days to a week and sacrifice a virgin or two...

Are you sure they were virgins? Maybe that's why it took so long :D.

Anyways, @ brandon: I'd like to get one, but I've still got to get a heatsink and thermal goop, leaving me with about $40, short of the $50+S&H and whatever it costs for an AM2 nowadays. Hopefully I'll have some money for it next term though.

And I still need to get a video card....
