Hello.
I have Asus HD5750 video card and I like to make some changes in the BIOS. I saved the bios with GPU-Z and made some small changes on it with Radeon Bios Editor. I saved the new bios with RBE, and i think that it's OK. (128kb)
After that i made bootable USB, placed the AtiFlash 3.60 files, and new bios (and the original for backup) in the USB and i rebooted the PC.
Everything was OK until i tried to flash my cards BIOS.
I tried with this commands: atiflash -p 0 ati.rom, atiflash -f -p 0 ati.rom, atiflash -p 0 ati.rom -sst but every time i received the same error message,

rom not erased
Error 0fl01

How i can resolve this problem?
On some forums i read that it's possible the BIOS of my card is locked for flashing.

With WinFlash I still get the same message.

Cannot erase ROM. :S

Some idea anyone? :S

winflash does not work with 5000 series.

I tried with Atiflash, but i received the same error message.
According to official site of Ati WinFlash, the version 2.0.1.10 have support for Cypress/Juniper.

winflash does not work with 5000 series.

It does support the 5000 series, ive flashed my 5770 before.

As for the flashing, did you grab the rom with winflash from inside RBE. I dont know if/why that would cause it not to work, but its worth a shot to try.

OK guys i did it. My BIOS was locked. I unlocked it with atiflash with atiflash -unlockrom 0, and after that i was able to flash it.
But now i have another problem.
I modified the old BIOS so that i increased the voltage of Clock info 0 from 1.1 to 1.2 to try higher overclock scopes, but after that ATI PowerPlay was broken and i was no able to set different frequency except the original 700-1150.
If Anyone knows how to increase voltage without break PowerPlay?
BTW, ViZioN207, what mode you make to your 5770?

I did this when the cards were having problems when switching from 2D to 3D, it was it making corrupt and then you would have to restart your system. So I just set clock 01 to the next highest that was listed in RBE which was 400/900/.95 but since drivers have come out to fix that, I flashed it back to the original bios.

OK, i did it.
I left the voltage on 1.1 and i unlocked the overclock limit. Now i have stable graphic card on 890-1320, and ATI PowerPlay is not broken. Cool. :D

hi guys !

i had the same problems and thanks to you i solved (-unlockrom 0 ) :rockout:

but no my problem is that with my Asus EAH 5750 the new frequencies are not being apply,
the card is still working @stock frequencies instead of the 800/1250mhz i put into the new bios
i verify that with the sensors logging feature of GPU-Z & while running 3D vantage the card goes from 400mhz to 700mhz maximun.
And The Idle 2D frequencies i ad to the memory and the gpu are not working too ...

Some idea why ? i see that you got the same card The Demon and you overcloked via BIOS
what do you do ?

thanks to you ! & have a nice day/night !

You modified only the frequency scope limit (not anything else) of the original card bios and flashed again whit it?

exellent i saw the topoc 20 minutes ago, them no response, and them i started googlelissing for more info and i get your actual response :D
perfect syncro Dude !!!!! thank U ! ! !

So i dont now exactly what are you talking about, soo i explain what i do ( sorru i'm Venezuelian/French so i only speak well french and spannish ..english i try to do my best !

SO i take RBE select the frequencies panel/view them click into the wizard bouton and put max frequency @ 800/1250 clicknext and them put 157/700mhz into le lower frequencies; after that
the first box of frequencies "0" was 800, 1250.
i dont now where is the Scope Frequency limit, and Scope limit is the limit of O/C frequencies for the Overdrive Ati Feature or the Smart doctor O/S feature ?
Maybe can you post a screen shot of your RBE showing your modified BIOS nop ? :)

Merci monsieur !

1. You will need the original untouched bios from your card.
2. Open the bios in RBE and don't change anything, especially the voltage.
3. Go to the Additional features tab.
4. There select Method 2 - No hash checkbox
5. There you can change the overclock limits.
The original overclock limits are 870MHz for GPU, and 1430MHz for RAM. You should increase those numbers. I increased the GPU limit to 1000MHz, and the RAM memory limit to 1500.
Finally, save the modified bios, and flash the card whit it.
Here's a picture where you can make that in RBE.

After that you can overclock your card whit higher frequency.
You are forbidden to change the settings of the stock frequency or the stock voltage in the Clock settings tab. If you like to increase the frequency of the GPU and RAM and overclock you card you must do that whit some GPU overclock software, like MSI Afterburner, or Rivatuner. Otherwise you will broke ATI PowerPlay and you will get unstable card.

Thanks you for your response !
haaaaaaaaaaaa Are you shure of this ?
becausse what i want to do is increase GPU 3D frequency with the BIOS i dont want to use a extenal program under windows to do that ...
Why ? because if you are under linux or DOS or OS X you lost the overlocking feature, and is better when do it by the Board internal hardware thant by an external program.
And you can get your card use less power optimizing powerplay frequencies @ IDLE and UDV

With my old Radeon 3870 i do that the sotk frequencies was about 730mhz and i put in the BIOS 830 and 1230 mhz to the 3D mode and lower frequencies to the IDLE/3D/light3D/UVD profiles
and it work wonderfully and automaticalle by the card with no external sofware :D

So according to you this isactually no more posible with all radeon 5750 ? or only this Asus EAH 5750 Formula 1GB ?
maybe is possible with another card :D

UPDATE : i dont have the same screen thant you in the Aditional features view, did you have the Asus EAH 5750 Formula 1GB card ?

Hey dude i got it !!!!!!!

the problem was simple, in fact in one of the clock setting i writte 70mhz instead of 700mhz jajajaja
now it is working with !! im overcloked to 800/1250mhz by BIOS and power play works very good like with my Radeon 3870 !!!!!!

look at the GPU-Z logs

Cool mate, i'm glad to hear that.
When i tried to increase the voltage in the bios of my card to get higher overclock, the result was broken PowerPlay and unstable card.

Yep i read that in your previus post here in this topic :)
But my goal for the moment is not to increasse the GPUS voltage to get more higher frequencies.
My goal was to get the higher stable frequencies for the actual stock GPU voltage, and onderclock the IDLE/UVD frequencies to use less power.
Because i play in 1280*1024 resolution so i dont need to much computing power for the moment
