Most decent thermal paste is about all the same (1-2 degree difference). Without knowing the two listed, (I use MX-2), I would suggest going with the one that is non-conductive.

I really like the Noctua NT-H1 paste. Here is a review of 33 different types of paste if you want a good read. Also check this out. It does look like Freeze is better but by 1-2 degrees if that.

+1

I've been using MX-2 for some time now and it works wonderfully. When the prices lower a bit I'll start using MX-3.

I highly recommend this thermal compound. It is a little on the pricy side, but is well worth it.:)

I use MX3 and weather its 1-4 degrees better I don't care. Its easy to spread and I like it.

Between the OCZ and Noctura id go with Noctura's NH1. Both are extremely well at what they do.

~1-2 degrees +/-...like everyone stated before, the best to worst thermal paste is just a couple of degrees.

There is not a single thermal interface material that is universally the best, due to the variance in heatsink surfaces. The surfaces of some heatsinks are polished mirror smooth, while others are rough and/or have gaps (e.g. your S1283). For smoother surfaces, a thinner thermal interface material is best, whereas a more high-build alternative is ideal for rough or uneven surfaced heatsinks.

For non-smooth heatsinks I use TIM Consultants TC Grease 0098. For smooth heatsink surfaces, Arctic Silver 5.
