Game UX Cleaner

This application is no longer being updated. Use Game Explorer Manager instead.

Do you have some games stuck in the Windows Vista/Windows 7 game browser that refuses to go away? This app will take care of those annoying buggers.

Download, extract, run, check the boxes next to the ones you want to delete, click on "Delete Checked...", and confirm the deletion. That's all there is to it.

Requires .NET Framework 3.5.

Disclaimer: Use at your own risk.

To enable modify the registry, run the program with -h4x in the startup parameters. Note: this is a highly beta feature so it is highly recommended you backup your registry (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameUX) before using it.

It's had very little testing so if someone has problems with it let me know.

Functionality is there to modify the registry but it is currently hidden. I'm convinced it would do more harm than good but if someone really wants access to it, I could make it visible.

Odd. I don't know what to tell you. You are using Windows 7 64-bit, right? That's what I'm using.

I suppose you could manually check to see if GameUX is there:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameUX

That's what it is looking at.

Did you use a manifest file to trigger UAC? I can't believe MS hasn't implemented a single line method of invoking UAC for an app...

1.0.2 uploaded. I added support for a -h4x flag which enables the editing capabilities of the program which I alluded to here. If you don't want to take any major risks, do not run it with the -h4x flag.
