So I have Win 7 64bit and am going to be building a new computer in a few months. Now I do not want to spend $99 on my OS(OEM) again. I'm pretty sure that each activation can only be on only one motherboard and I am replacing that too in my new build. A few people have told me though that there is actually a way to call Microsoft and they can reset it or something along those lines. I can't completely remember what they said. Can anyone confirm any of this? It would be greatly appreciated.

I am interested in this too. I also am looking at swapping my MB, but I am afraid I would need a new copy of Win7..../Subscribed.

Yes, you can reuse your current copy of Windows.
If it will not activate online, call them and tell them the computer was upgraded and is still only on one machine per the license agreement. Don't tell them it's another computer. Technically you are not lying ... you just updated everything on the old computer. ;)

I've reactivated my copy a couple of times due to upgrades.

Speaking from experience you can use the same activation, HOWEVER it will say that it is unrecognised and you will have to call a line, text your activation number and get a semi new one to put in.

Thanks guys. I have been wanting to play with my old DFI 790FXB-M2RSH that I got back from RMA before I give it to my son. MY M4A79 Deluxe has a Vdroop issue and the DFI did not seem to have that issue when I was using it. Time to start the test. :D

Torrenting isn't my thing. Even if I have problems with the manufacturers, I still respect them too much to do such a thing and I respect myself staying out of prison a lot more ;)
