Glad you liked it, I thought others here would find it interesting as well (especially the way I worded the title, lol, & the fact this is a section of the forums board here that has a great deal of 'hardware fiends' in it).

Sure to get their attention & possibly? To make them go "hmmmm", because it did get me thinking @ least as to how powerful these machines can be & how to go about it (just use MORE, a TON MORE, of everything).

Agreed - because to run that giant "supercomputer", it MUST take a truckload of juice... no questions asked & hydro-electric + hydro-cooling (part of my subject of this thread) is RIGHT there for the taking, easily enough!

And, because the concept isn't all that "otherworldly/sci-fi" so much anymore, as it would have been say, 35++ years ago or more... it scares me a great deal actually!

Don't laugh either, because when I saw my first "Cybie Dog" in action @ a local CompUSA, or a "Roomba" @ a friend's house that uses one??

I don't think we are ALL that far off from this being a possibility!

Even w/ all of "ASIMOV'S LAWS OF ROBOTICS"? Bugs in programs exist - heck, they do in the human mind, & that's creating this stuff: A faulty machine creating more really!

(However, I'll take our "faulty" sometimes emotionally driven minds over that of a cold, heartless, logic engine & anytime - mainly because we do have compassion)...



Therefore, imo @ least? No matter WHAT type of safeguards we build?? There's probably going to be holes, errors (hardware & software both) & hackers (or their insane creations in virii/malware/spyware/rootkits) exploiting them to our detriment as a species... what a misuse of talent imo on those folks that do that, but then again - it's easy to destroy, by comparison to creation of useful software engines.

I.E.-> For every thing you can think of that could go wrong? IMO, you're missing another 10 you didn't think about... apk
