In 2012 the Smithsonian Museum will have an Art of Video Games exhibit.

VOTE!! We all saw what happened with Guinness and how they goofed, so get out there and make the rest of us proud for a change!

That said, I'm torn between Deus Ex and DooM II.

I am VERY dissapointed in them for the only Sonic game they have is Sonic CD. Raaaagggggeee!!!

And only PC games from 1995? Raaaggggegeeeeee!!!!

You can vote for each category on each console in each era. There are about 60 time you can vote, and if I remember correctly you can vote Chrono Trigger, Deus Ex, AND Fallout.

Easy choice IMO

Chrono Trigger because of the time travel in such an early game. Also the art was amazing, second only to the original "Secret of Mana". That was the golden age of japanese games and art. FF7 is also an easy choice because of how damn popular it is. Lunar was good but didn't have the same staying power. Lunar was more like an anime than a game IMO.

For me though, LttP was my first SNES game. I had gone the Genesis route while one of my friends went SNES during the 'bit wars'. One night he stayed over and since I had two TV's in my room, we spent a good part of the night trying out the other system's games. After a little Mario and Pilot Wings, I glazed upon Hyrule and was hooked! Hit up games stores to grab some used NES LoZ's, a SNES, and any other RPG's that were available at the time. While more adventure than RPG, it was the spark that lead to Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy, Soul Blazer, etc.

I did vote FF7 of course. My oldest daughter, Aeris, would not have let me live it down otherwise! However, Lunar had it's fans, and was ported to several systems. The graphic enhancements and anime cut-scenes allowed me to experience it for the first time on the PS1.

Just a question, is Suikoden there? Suikoden 1 and 2 is proof that 3D graphics (on the PS1) don't really matter when the story is way superior. Don't forget that they were up against Breath of Fire III & IV, FF VII & VIII who both use 3D sprites. The Suikoden games stuck with 2D on EVERYTHING except for cutscenes and some spell effects. It would be interesting how they would consider those two.
