Unreal Engine now used in rehabilitation centers

In the 1990's, virtual reality was a thing of sci-fi dreams, and involved gigantic helmets that would immerse a subject in the virtual reality world. Now, however, virtual reality is taking a very nice new direction. It is being used to help rehabilitation patients relearn how to cope with everyday environments. Unreal Engine (the exact version is unknown), by emulating a grocery store while a patient walks on a treadmill, can help people deal with vertigo. This is just one example of how the Unreal Engine, among other game engines, is working for the betterment of mankind.

Wow, uber cool. This reminds me of some of those older sci fi movies (Lawnmower man, etc) that helped folks get smarter, made them able to walk, etc... This is definately uber-cool.

Yeah, I find video games a great stress reliever, but then again most peoples hobbies relieve stress.

What a bogus media-newsworthyless-statement.

It's as bad as saying that hospital rehabilitation centres are using Mavis Beacon Typing Tutor to help people who suffered a sprained finger.

The next thing will be to make people on Anger Management Classes use Windows 95 to make sure they can handle a BSOD without losing their temper.

... or did I mean READ THE VISTA LICENCE.

LOL LOL LOL
