+1 :rockout:

Clock gen chip is IDT CV174CPAG.

All software clockers detect it when similar (older) IDT chip is selected but none changes settings.
Here's the thread about it:
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=18802&page=5

Thanks a lot! :D

Edit: Here's the datasheet:
http://www.idt.com/products/files/7005462/CV174C.pdf

And here's the product page:
http://www.idt.com/?genID=CV174C

Hi

I have a new Dell XPS-410 with P965 MB that also has same IDT cv174cpag.

It would be nice to get support for this chip, I tried CLOCKGEN and it only listed the cv107 IDT but it did find my chipset as PPL control page along with setup are there.
Soft OC just might work with supported IDT cv174.

anyway, nice forum here, just found it ;-)

Hello,
Surely already asked or already in the to-do list but...

- Abillity to change speed fan when possible by the motherboard (like speedfan)
- Make the event tab working (or there is a probleme on my computers, but i can't use them)
- change the fsb and multiple for the CPU (already possible manually) but in fonction of the temps (if events where working, i could be possible by there) - to replace "rightmark cpuclock" like software
- make a "start with windows" button ;) - even if it's simple to create a shortcut with "start minimised" option and to place it in the startup folder
- Make it skinnable (can contribute for skin :) )
- CPU-Z like fonctions (cpu speed, details etc..)
- monitoring : ability to see more than one at a time (like cpu temp + chipset temp etc in a only one monitor)
- Find max fsb working with dual-core or multi-cpu (like the benchmark module, where multi-thread is possible)

If this fonctions can appear, we will be able to throw cpu-z, speedfan, motherboard monitor, rightmark cpu clock etc.. All the cool things will be in one software (and so many are already in :) )
Picking this one up, I'd like to second some of the requests and add some new ones:

1) SpeedFan-like abilities would be nice. I do use an external fan controler, but it would be nice, nontheless..

2) RM CPU Clock Utility-like and NHC-like functions would be VERY welcome: on-demand FID, VID and ODCM changes, as well as advanced CPU settings... It would be like a dream come true

3) Dynamic FSB settings (along with FID, VID and ODCM changes; and, since we're at it, if possible, even NB and SB voltages) to underclock (say, a 200MHz-FSB C2D on idle) and overclock the CPU on the fly, based on load and/or software loaded... 2) would be like a dream come true, this would be heaven on earth...

4) Keep the "KISS" approach, and PLEASE don't EVER make it skinnable: is is nice, yes, but the eyecandy makes the software a CPU and memory hog (and you don't want THAT on this kind of utility...); or at least make the "skinnability" an optional module...

5) Include a nice and clean "on event" module, which can be easilly configured (SpeedFan, anyone?)

6) Make the software x64-friendly: I have several very unpleasant "glitches" (read: "bugs") with my copy, running on Windows XP x64...

If all of the above can be achieved, SysTool will become THE best utility EVER to manage the CPU... Please tell me it is all possible... Pretty please, with sugar on top? :p

Keep it up.

Cheers.

Miguel

Thank you Wizzard and all who helped developed SYSTool for producing a tool that accurately tracks the individual core temperatures on the Kentsfield. Well Done.
The Asus P5W-DH Deluxe board (Probe) shows a single cpu Temerature value reading 43% lower then systool values.

Again, Great work. :toast:

Auto Start w/Windows ability would be cool.

Another ability is using registry execution durning start up to disable C1E so you don't necessarily have to start the program to have it disabled! that would be way cool!

Is it just me, or even the "non-OC friendly" mobos have the ability to disable C1E at the BIOS? I have both an Asus P5B-Deluxe and an ASRock 775i945GZ mobos and both have the ability to disable C1E from the BIOS. I believe this is true to the vast majority of the mobos...

Unless, of course, you want full C1E support except at some times during the OS execution. That would require something different, and the registry execution is welcome. You can, however, add it manually either to the registry startup or the "Startup" Start Menu sub-folder. Separate service and GUI would be much more interesting, one could have systool running without even being logged on (very interesting for some people, for me it would, at least).

Cheers.

Hello,

I guess a lot of us have motherboards with the (new) IDT CV174 PLL.

Mine is an Intel DQ965GF motherboard with that same clock generator, :).

I hope support will come soon for this PLL, thanks!

Any nVidia MCP55 Ultra support planned

Hi Wizzard,

I love tweaking my rig with your ATITool and SysTool:rockout: . It appears that SysTool doesn't recognise my Abit-KN9 Ultra. It uses the nVidia MCP55 Ultra chipset.

Do have any plans to support this in an upcoming release? :)

If not can you recommend other tools that work with the KN9s?

Thanks,
Steve

Hello everyone!

I've found a sofware that supports the IDT CV174C PLL. I don't know if I can post it here so until then, I won't be able to tell you.

Hi

There is "SetFSB" for DQ965GF Ultra Version 1.5a1
This software is a beta version.

Supported Intel DQ965GF IntelQ965(ICH8DO) IDT CV174C

This didn't work on my Dell P965, started with error, so i think chipset issue.
Looks like it may help Insect111 though as looks to match his system.

Edit: Ah i see you posted to yourself :)

Ed

Hello Ed,

Is "SetFSB" the name of the software Ed? I'm referring to another software, hehehe! I will give you a link to the software I'm referring to once I get confirmation that it's ok to "announce" this beta release. I'm using it on my system now. I don't have the latest hardware and I don't want to fry my CPU so I just overclocked it a little bit. (stock speed is 3400MHz, overclocked to 4110MHz) I guess you know what processor I'm referring to based on the stock speed, :).

I'm always interested in trying new software with this kind of software (still looking for one with everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to over and underclocking and voltage control lol), so if you can PM me about that other software, please do so, ok?

Hello everyone,

I'm referring to a beta version of ClockGen from cpuid.com. ClockGen "is a program dedicated to overclocking. Its main purpose is to change the system clocks on the fly : FSB (Front Side Bus) and GSB (Graphic Side Bus). ClockGen also provides some functions that allow you to improve and monitor your overclock."

This version has not yet been officially released (and supported) by cpuid.com because development for ClockGen has been temporarily suspended.

Many thanks to Franck Delattre of www.cpuid.com for providing support for the IDT CV174C PLL. As usual, damage from overclocking your system is no one's fault but yours. So, try at your own risk, :).

I was able to change the clock speed of my Pentium D 945. I'm planning to do the same on my Core 2 Duo, :).

If you need support, you can try http://www.cpuid.com/clockgen.php.

These are the links to ClockGen and CPU-Z for this particular version of ClockGen:

http://www.cpuid.com/beta/ClockGen.zip
http://www.cpuid.com/beta/cpuz.zip

Please remember that support for the above softwares are still limited if not available, :) .

Thanks for posting that! This worked perfectly on my DG965RYCK Intel Board and D930!

So far with stock voltage and air cooling I am able to reach a stable OC of ~3.6ghz.

:rockout:

I'm burning it in right now with Prime95 and CPUStab.

I have attached a screen shot for those interested. Well I did... oh well.

Cheers!

Thanx for posting newer version.
I tried it on my system (Dell XPS 410-P965-6400), and it did change FSB and stick, probelm though I blue sceened a little while after and was only small increase as test (not even 100MHZ).
I have question, when you used it what did stats show for PCI and PCI-express at default/stock speeds or did you only use the "ignore PCI" option.
with that unclicked it shows right MHZ and FSB speeds but PCI=50mhz and PCI-e =100MHZ, dors yours show that too ?

seems to high to me, might just be this Dell MB not getting fully reconized right and they maybe lock it up to tight to do anything.

Hello Ed,

I think we're already off topic. This is supposed to be a Features Request thread for SysTool and not for ClockGen, I'm very sorry for starting this whole thing...

I have the same clocks as your PCI and PCI-E. I don't even have a speed for my RAM. As I've said, this version is still experimental.

I recently noticed this fourm and see you found a way to overclock the IDT cv174 PLL on my DG965WH board (full name IDT CV174CPAG). I was in the middle of building a high end system with this board when I realized i couldnt overclock with it at all. Stupid me. After alot of research I think this beta of clockgen may be the only way. Can someone verify that this application can overclock the DG965WH board with a core 2 duo before i continue on building. I dont want to get this thing up and running and find it doesnt oc.

Also If anyone out there finds a way to oc via the bios please let us know.
