I finally put my computer together And ran into problems. First problem was once I installed windows XP I could not get my PC to run through VGA so I connected it though S-video. Now window starts up and works fine. Next I installed the GPU drivers and set the res to 1080p, and restarted using the VGA output. Everything worked fine. Next I installed the MB drivers, restarted and could not get windows to run. I tried to install windows again and now I get a software error saying Something about HAL DLLs. I am a noob, a very fustrated noob. Please help me. Thanks in advance. :respect:

I went on yahoo and did a seach but only got info for NT.

Sorry for my noobness but I didnt really understand completely what HAL is ,but
to cut to the chase, is it a harware or sofware problem I am having?

What I understood is that HAL helps my computer comunicate with the other components.

You might have to start over with the install. Make sure your using the latest drivers.

First install windows,
then mobo drivers,
then video drivers,
finally update windows...

Its kinda weird that you cannot get vga to work but you can get s-video...

btw, list the specs of this rig.

Now, I wouldn't of thought of that until much later in the game. Thanks for the tip TSX.

The funny thing was before I had got another error and I looked it up and saw that they recomemded to check for bad ram. So I took out my ram and bam everything was good. I called a buddy of mine and he said maybe the ram was not bad and I had it connected wrong possibly. I put the ram in the slot next to the other stick and it worked fine. Then after is when I did everything in the original post. Stupid me for not trying to do it again.. :( what a waste of 14hours of my life.
