Okay I'm getting random internet explorer freezes ? not responding problems when I'm prime stable overclocked and when I'm running at stock voltage and not overclocked. Firefox, however works flawless. The problem with firefox is when I change overclocking setting loose all my favorites and homepage. Ive had this problem with Firefox on my last few systems does anyone else have this problem with fire fox and does anyone know what the heck wrong with my internet explorer. I tried reinstall internet explorer without it making any difference. Sometimes it will go hours and be fine or sometimes it just say not responding five minutes into using it.

I'm wondering could this be a ram problem? I have been having some minor voltage trouble with my ram and have a new kit on the way.

sounds like a problem unique to your PC, yes.

Could be a virus too.

try nod32's 30 day trial to scan for viruses, and if you think the problem is ram related, test it using memtest.

yeah, programs like FF and IE I dont link to OCing issues. Windows stability issues, yes I do attribute to that. Could be a virus, trojan, etc. That is what I was thinking too,

Well I have a anti virus program and with internet explorer the freezes occur even when my chip is not over clocked and when it is overclocked. Also no spy ware was located with 2 anti spyware programs plus Firefox doesn't freeze.

The Firefox issue is when I change my over clocking settings Firefox resets to the defaults with google as my home page and my favorites are gone. it does however work with out any freezes and did the same thing with my old system with a different motherboard and chip. I alway thought that Firefox must store some thing in your ram and by changing your over clocking you reset it clearing any data from the ram, but thats just a guess. Cannot run mem test I don't have a jump drive or floppy to run it. Plus any over clocking that I do is Orthos prime stable for 8 hours or more without any errors.

Found the firefox issue and it's a common problem, but i still don't understand how to fix it. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=1419055

Okay now i found out that this freeze problem with internet exploer 7 is common aswell and the fix is to uninstall it and use internet explorer6 or to pay microsoft for what they call a hotfix. Well internet explorer 6.0 work better anyway and firefox shouldn't release a product that malfunctions.

If anyone has the trouble I did which many people do here is the fixes microsoft recommends. Can't tell you if they work but since I switched to 6.0 I'm not getting the freezes like before.

memtest is ran from a CD.

Firefox most certainly doesnt store anything that would be affected by overclocking, that problem used to occur randomly with FF in early versions, but i havent seen it in a long time.

Congrats on finding the IE7 issue, seems like you had a few different issues combined together.

The solution I found was Opera what a cool internet browser and fast as hell. I love the speed dial function. Also I tried to run Memtest from a cd and being a retard cannot get it to work.

lol, memtest is fairly simple.

Boot the CD like you would any other bootable CD, guides for booting a windows CD would help you here.

Once in, hit the following key combination once its loaded.

C 1 3 5 enter 0

This is the keys neccesary to loop test #5, which is a faster method of testing the ram, and quite reliable.

Oh and opera is a nice browser too, its firefoxes big brother.

Using Nero 7, go to nero burning ROM, Make sure you select CD at top, then scroll down (on left) to Boot cd.
