I am making my own case, but I don't know what to do :O

Hi,
If any of you read my specs, you will notice for case - NONE! Well, I am too cheap to buy a case, so I was going to make one. I want it to be a cheap (less than $15 total cost) and durable case. I want it to have only one 5 1/4, one 3 1/2 (external), and 2 internal 3 1/2. What materials should I buy? note- I cannot do any purchases on line . What tools should I use? btw, I am going to post pics of it when it's all done.
thanks

seth

both of these cases are free after rebate and all you pay is the $15 shipping :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811117074

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...AFC-C8Junction

if nothing else you will have a frame to start with and you can create your own look from there

hell... if you are in the US, I have a lot of spare cases sitting around.

Pay for shipping and you can have one.

They are not anything fancy, just your typical generic white box case

Are you high? A sander or a dremel, sure, but a freakin ARC welder? There's no logical reason why ANYONE would try welding a case together with an arc welder. A MIG, sure. TIG, even better. But ARC?!

And for most the cutting work, forget the dremel too. 4" angle grinders are cheap, with cheap consumables, faster cutting and far more accurate with enough practice.

To the OP, add a drill and a range of drill bits to your list. Definitely tools that are essential to any case build. If you want to build your own case, go right on ahead, but put the downtime into planning it. And are you really gonna spend all that effort building a custom, one-off case for an old Athlon?

As for materials, take your pick. I prefer mild steel, but you could also use aluminium, wood, plastics... you name it, it can be done. Whatever you are most comfortable and competent with really.

ah....I got hit with good luck...my friend gave me some old cases that his grandpa was going to throw away...
case one: HP Pavilion 4563Z
case two: HP Pavilion XE783 (I am using this one for my comp. 3)
I may mod the 4563Z case for kicks, but I doubt it. I won't mod the XE783 case, because it is good enough for me
