I bought the new x-fi prelude by auzentech, should arrive sat or monday. I will put a half assed review on here since I know there are so many creative haters on here(myself included). Thing better work right as I paid $170 for it to replace my x-fi platinum that is currently being used as a paper weight. http://auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php :rockout::rockout:

A good portion of Creative's problems stems from the sub-standard hardware. This card alleviates that problem. I also heard Auzentech will have a hand in the drivers as well. They would have to, to protect their best interests.

Auzentech WANTS to have their hand onto Creatives drivers code but Creative didnt reach where it is by doing stupid things. Providing the X-Fi chips to Auzentech is one thing but release secret info to them just wont happen, not until Creative releases a new Audio Chip.

How would collaborating with Auzentech be stupid? That's what NDAs are for.

Auzentech tried the same thing in the beginning and creative obviously turned them down. Dont think that something has changed since. But even if it had i think it would take Auzentech team many months to improve creatives drivers.

Granted, but improvements are improvements, none the less.

EDIT: I still want one of these cards.

The drivers are made by creative so why do you think its gonna be better ????? I wish it is but i really doubt it.

"The drivers are a Creative and Auzentech collaboration. Auzentech has spent considerable time with Creative working on drivers and I've heard nothing but positive comments.

Yes it will be compatible with Vista, the reason why Auzentech shifted to Creative is that C-Media will never have properly functioning Vista drivers.

DD Live/DTS Connect/DTS NEO are all supported in hardware but can't be activated until licensing paperwork has been completed"

That seals the deal. I'm 100% sold on this card now. I will be buying it in the future, after I buy a working mobo and cpu, of course.
