I am throwing together a few budget machines for a client, and they wanted something with onboard video.

I spotted the eVGA 610i boards on newegg and was thinking about giving them a go, but wanted to see if anyone has used them before. I am going to be putting E2180s in them, so I was hoping for a little overclocking ability, even if it isn't much. I would like to get the processors up to the 2.4GHz mark if possible, so a 240FSB, but I don't know if the boards will handle that.

They don't do graphicly intense stuff, no games, so the weak onboard isn't an issue. However, they do a lot of video encoding, so CPU power is important.

Really, I was just looking to see if anyone had any experience with these boards, or knew anything about them.

Just in case anyone cares, I picked these boards up yesterday and set them up. With the E2180 I managed to get it to 2.4GHz, which isn't bad for a $70 motherboard with integrated graphics. I am sure if I had more time to tinker I could have gotten it higher, I just stopped at 2.4GHz because any higher than that and it seems to not like it and I didn't feel like figuring out why. I just did a quick bump of the CPU voltage and that didn't fix the problem so I left it at 2.4GHz.

The voltage control was decent, but certainly lacking in some areas. There was voltage control for CPU, Memory, Northbridge, and FSB. The CPU could be set all the way up to 1.8v, but the memory could only be set to 2.2v.

It does allow ajustment of memory timings, and even though it says it only supports DDR2-667, it detected my DDR2-800 and ran it at 800MHz without me doing anything. It also has the same overclocking interface as the other nVidia 600 series boards with Linked and Unlinked operations.

Heyya buddy,
Sorry for bumping this old thread,

I am new to this forum,
And i ,yesterday,got a palit 610i motherboard and an e7200 processor.

I planned to oc the proccy to a respectable level . .just a 300 mhz bump wu've been fine. .but it seems like the bios is not having any option for the the change in the multipliers(they are locked anyway, right ? ) and nor there is the option for changing the core clock there, what i can see is the fsb(800,1066,1333) e7200 is 1066 mhz i guess .
Can anyone help me out in this regard ? .
Sorry if i missed some point cuz m a real noob in the oc concept and the oc in my previous abit ip35 pro with q6600 was like a cake walk,

Thanx in advance for the expected replies,
Thanks :)

Palit doesn't use the reference board or BIOS, so the options they give will be different than thos on the reference boards(eVGA, XFX, etc.).

It seems like, from what you describe, that Palit only gives you the option to select 800,1066, or 1333 FSB, and not move the FSB in 1MHz increments like the other boards.

Your only option for overclocking is to up the FSB to 1333.
