I haven't seen anyone comment on this utility, so I hope I'm not repeating the obvious, but came across http://www.runscanner.net/ today.

RunScanner is an ANTI-Spyware, ANTI-hijacker utility. A bit like HiJackThis, but better, IMO.

Freeware . It scans your system for autostart programs, spyware, adware, homepage hijackers, unverified drivers and other problems. You can import and export your results and let other people help you to solve your problems just like HiJackThis. But it also has a built in RATING like http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/. <-- is good, but aint free.

It's an old thread... but it's a great utility... and I just used it again recently after pretty much having forgotten about it. I found some old iTunes stuff running in the background. ZAP. No more.

Now at version 1.9. You dont need to install it... you can have it on your keystick and run it portable. Very useful diagnostic tool. FREE.

Has anyone got any info about the 2.0 version or when it will released? The latest version is 1.9.0.9 and it is from 16 September 2009...

I found this from one versions changelog:
"64 bit operating systems are not supported in this release but will be in the 2.0 version"

I would really appreciate if someone has any insight of this! It looks like Runscanner is "scattered" through many forums and its homepage is kinda "empty" and there isn't much info about the program itself or development.

Hmm, just found some nasty i:/setup.exe in the registry. Looks like keystick malware from somebody. DEAD!
