I've got the Sapphire 2900 Pro 1GB.

Anyone know of a BIOS editor for the 2900 that does more than simple clock frequency and voltage adjustments? I've seen the Shamino & Quantum Force editors, but they only allow these basic adjustments. The voltage on the QF editor can only be adjusted upwards too - and I need downward adjustments. Shamino doesn't let you change it.

I need to BIOS flash my custom parameters for clock speed & fan speed temp thresholds for 2D & 3D modes, to free the card from ATI Tool, which is mostly limited to XP and is frankly quite buggy - I have to reset the parameters such as voltage and fan speeds manually at every PC reset, standby wakeup or 2D/3D switch, because the triggers don't work properly. I've reported these problems on the ATI Tool beta thread a couple of weeks ago, but there's no update yet.

Using ATI Tool (and working around the bugs), I can keep the card quiet at all times when gaming (ie 3D mode), by lowering the core voltage to 1.05v & overclocking to a nice 752 / 1107 (2214DDR). The fan runs at the quiet 31% setting at up to 88C core temp, at which point, the noisy 38% setting kicks in. With my custom settings however, the card always stays around 77-83C and hence, quiet the whole time. If I wanted all-out performance, this card is of course capable of it using much higher clocks, at the expense of heat and noise, but other than benchmarks, I'd rather have a card I can live with.

In 2D mode, I can even drop the temp down to 53C and the fan speed to a silent 25% by lowering the core voltage to 0.875v & the clocks to 253 / 295 (590DDR).

These settings seriously enhance this fantastic card, so if anyone knows of a comprehensive BIOS editor that will let me burn the custom parameters I've created using ATI Tool, I'd be very grateful.

Shamino & Quantum Force is as good as it gets, unless you hex the bios yourself.

if there are any good coders out there that know their stuff in c/c++ i would gladly love to help with guidance and the internals of the bios formats. but doing it all by myself would just be too time consuming, i cant take on another project now

Thanks guys. :)

ATI Tool, BIOS programmers & the like really enhance the value of DAAMITs products. They really should give you the resources (ie money, tech docs, expert advice etc) to allow you to make a grade A product. I appreciate that you do this in your own time with limited resources available and that it's pretty hard that way.

ATI Tool in fact saved my beloved card from reluctantly going back to the retailer. In its default state, even with the stock clock speeds, the fan would spin loudly periodically and was very annoying. ATI Tool allows me to prevent this and use my card to its full potential, bugs or no bugs.

I've reported the issues with ATI Tool that I've seen on the beta forum and I'll just wait patiently for an updated version. If you want any more feedback, or for me to try something out for you, just give me a shout. ;)
