Someone said this "There is an error in the Voltage dropdown. Instead of a dot, it is a comma (1,327 and not 1.327) and saved bios file gave an error on opening. If you type the value manually, it seems to save correctly and opens the file with set values." on the xs thread,so take note guys.

I hope it does work.

When you save the modded bios file,it even corrects the checksum so it stays the same.

I just flashed my bios with no problems at all on my 3850 my default clocks are now 800/1000

if you he edit the bios it will not work unless you correct the checksum, this corrects the checksum automatically and it has been updated to 1.6

i will try overdrive for you

this is good, I've seen some cards coming from manufacturers that come overclocked, and do't seem to go back to their 2D clocks, so hopefully, I can get past that problem, and overclock, but maintain 2D clocks working properly.
Definately watching to see how well this works.

overdrive works but it still sucks, use rivatuner instead

also, if you want to overclock alot, buy better cooling for your card

you can underclock your cards 2d mode, I have mine running at 300/400 now

if you need the unmodded 380 256mb unlocked bios, pm me and i'll send you a link

Buy a 3850/3870, then copy the ROM file :p
Just kidding.
Make sure you're opening the right file at first, you might have clicked the wrong one. Happens to us all.
Other than that, all I can think of is that maybe the file didn't get copied correctly, got corrupted, maybe?

The program is made by a German programmer, it would seem, and most people here will likely be using English as their language, and if no rpboelsm were reported, I'd say language doesn't matter, especially as the BIOS modder will only be editing the numbers to do with the clock speeds and voltages.

btw, KainXS, ygpm, dunno if you saw.

Awesome, now someone with the same card as me has used it, it's safe to try :D
Just wish I could be arsed.
Is there a way to copy the BIOS without booting into DOS? I remember I could copy the BIOS for my 8600GTS from inside Windows with the BIOS editor itself.

just bin playing with the editor i notice the voltage only goes up to 1.327.. mine reads or did read 1.34.. probably the same but i am worried it might drop my vcore..

anyways it seems to work.. i opened the 830/1200 bios and simply saved it.. comparing the two files it hasnt altered anything which is good..

but doing it with the fanfix bios its does make slight alterations even wihout altering the settings.. he he

gonna have to flash it and see i spose.. he he he

one safety test i ran was open a bios and then save it and open the saved one.. sometimes it reported clocks too high errors even thow i hadnt altered them..

best to reload the one u have altered and saved to make sure its okay before flashing i recon..

one thing it does is to rip out the warning "u aint plugged the power thingy in" why it does that i dont know.. but it does..

Does this not work for anyone else with Vista? Whenever I save a file it automatically maxes out the 3d speed. If I open it back up the settings go to 1200/1700 and all the voltages get messed up too...glad I checked before I tried flashing.

edit - i used an edited version of the MSI bios with atiwinflash and the 2d memory underclock didn't take...
