I've given it some serious thought before even presenting this recommendation here, but I've been starting to think that a "Soundcards and audio" sub forum might be in order . . .
I base my reasoning on the more frequent threads we're seeing in the General Hardware section concerning both soundcards and headsets, etc - and I've also noticed that many of the same questions keep popping up over and over and over again. TBH, I don't have a single problem addressing these concerns, but many times each thread also brings out false information and opinions about certain 'select' audio hardware, and this is mostly due to users just not knowing the subject material enough, or having read too many of the strongly opinionated review sites on the internet that blemish facts. We have quite a few very knowledgable users in reagards to audio equipment, there are more and more soundcards coming to market, and much more competition in a segment of the industry that has become rather stagnant, and, TBH, I feel that we'll probably start seeing more and more of these threads pop up, as newer audio hardware starts becoming more and more confusing - as well as more and more prone to conflicts with other hardware. The audiophile enthusiast community is also starting to make a move towards modding their audio hardware also, and there's really very little information abounding the net on these types of practices, either.
But, when these threads do crop up in General Hardware, they're usually buried quickly amoungst the many threads. IMO, if we had a seperate subforum for these posts to be made, it would help streamline the General Hardware section a bit more, and possibly appease redundant threads concerning audio hardware.
Just offering a suggestion based on things I've noticed recently.
Anyhow . . . opinions?
