Hmm, it sounds like you are referring to what I posted here about various X800 GT cards: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=6056CrAsHeR said:I'have bought an X800GT By Powercolor
It got red PCB
Here'are my Fuses

Is there any pipeline i can revive? In negative way, what bios could i flash in order to increase performance as lot's of users here did?
Thanks
Yes, it can be moddedLoritus said:Please helpme, I have a Sapphire x800gto 256mb PCI-E. It has memories 1.6ns and core r480.
This is the screen of atitools. Can my card mod to x850xt? and how?

you have r430
try to overclock ur card - it shouldnt go above 450 mhz core
flash x800xl bios - for my r430 fireblade it works perfectly
he is right... Atitool only shows what is in the bios.. you have to overclock it to find out if you really have a r480 core...Loritus said:yo have a r430 but atitools what show? r430 or r480?

So there's a green one, too? Hmm, you could maybe try overclocking it a little with ATITool. If it doesn't get anywhere near 500 on the core, then it is indeed R430. If you are planning on returning it, you might not want to try that, though.thomasg2001 said:i feel pretty pissed. i got my ati sapphire x800 gto2 today!
first of all, there was a message in the case, that i should connect the card to the power supply before using it ... and there is an extra connector cable added too for doing so. BUT there is no connector on the card ... ... i feel pretty fooled by that.
the card is green and the cooler is like every other gto2 cooler from sapphire (i think).
then i used the atitool and it says, that i have an r430, the fuses "lines" (information) are like they should be with the F's at the right position, so i should be able to get it to 16 pipes ... i can post a screenshot later ... btw. which bios should i use now?
BUT ... i didn't get, what i thought that i will get ... okay, the card was "just" 170eur incl. delievery but i think someone should warn, that it could be that the new gto2 from sapphire are not the same than days before ...
greetings from germany ...

OK, it definately has R430 then. Don't flash that card to the regular X800 GTO2 bios. Instead you could go here to either mod the bios yourself or have someone else do it for you: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=8060thomasg2001 said:returning? i don't know if i could/should, because there is a policy, that they will give me less money back, because it is used (u can see the scratches of the copper pins of the pci slot) ... otherwise, the card is not like it should be ... it is not logical to put the powercable with it and not beeing able to use it ...
atitool: checked ... right now i am at 415mhz core and 530mhz memory ... bad, isn't it i get artefacts with 420/530 ... damn ...

Only 407/525 and artifacts, whit 71.5C?? there could be a problem.... Try flushing a 16p bios and see how its working.AlanJB said:My new system came with a Sapphire X800GTO (256MB DDR3). ATITool and RaBIT both identify the core as an R480 (device ID 5D4F) but core/memory overclocking with ATITool couldn't get beyond 407/525 without artifacts at a max GPU temp of 71.5C. Looks like the core is really an R423, correct? On the bright side, CONFIG_DIE_FUSES=0xFFFFFFFF and CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES=0xFFFFFF9F so unlocking to 16 pipelines should be possible. Finally, is there a recommended BIOS upgrade to squeeze any extra out of this card?
Thanks in advance.
