I have a Sparkle Non-reference (blue pcb) 8800GT and i am in the process of volt modding it.

My problem is i am missing one important aspect; i don't know where the ground points are on my board.

I have figured out everything else, i have my resistance measured and the correct potentiometer. I know my vGPU read points my solder point on the phase controller just don't know where the ground points are. :banghead:

Can anyone help? Here is some pictures of the area around the phase controller.

The first two pics aren't very good, sorry. The second two are ok though.

Easyest way is to use power connector's pin, where black wire comes in. :)

Actually are you sure the top ones are ground in this pic the potentiometer is grounded to the bottom pins. I think?

Ok i see what you mean the three black cables next to the clip (bottom when connected to card) are the ground points. Once again thanks.

can you take closer pics like you did at the top?

Thanks

I think you can use any ground you want to on the card, just pick one.

Also what potentiometer did you end up using?

I am ashamed to be writing this post.

The Solder went well! Used a 50k potentiometer to the FB pin and to ground on the power connecter. I admired my work for a bit.........

On installation i dropped the f#@*ing card, the wire got caught and it pulled the solder point off which by the looks of things has dislodged the FB solder point and damaged the PCB track!!

I don't know what to do?

I have tried to fix the track with conductive silver paint, but i dont if this will work.
Will this hurt anything else if i put it in my machine to see if the fix worked.

Or have i just destroyed my card?

I can post pics of my repair.

This is not plesent!

The bottom right side of the chip. You can see the silver paint if you zoom in.

I'm going to plug it in latter this morning after one more coat of silver paint.

Need to make sure the silver paint isn't bridging any solder points.
