NOTE: this is only a test for my setup...the priciple is good for any setup...but the actual settings...are ONLY for my gear.

1. boot at 300x8 with your memory at the lowest divider ddr2400 i believe it is on our boards, see if it posts, if not go back in raise nb and htt-cpu link voltage. if it boots, reboot and boot at 310 and tell me if it boots there, while doing this keep the htt link at 5x not auto or antything less-i wanna know what the board can handle. i want the max for that number.

2. next i need to know what mem speeds you can achieve, this is easy, set your timings to 5,5,5,18 2t and change trc to 26. up voltage to 2.3 and try and keep some decent airflow on there, i have the same ram as you that i'm not using anymore with the upgrade but i've played with it, so trust me on this. boot at 250x8, and see if it boots, run mem test if you want but just see if it will get to the windows desktop, if it does reboot and go up in 10Mhz increments on the front side bus, when it does boot drop 10 mhz and run memetest for 20 miinutes*test 5* only. let me know what you get for a max here.

3. the very last is the cpu, this is by far the easiest, with temps in mind up the voltage to 1.5 and boot the computer with the htt at 5, memory at the lowest speed *ddr2 400 again* and the multi at 14, start at 240 and this will give you 3356, run orthos priority 1 not 10, i'm not interested in your final stable clock i just want to know if it can handle it. if it can, go up to 244 for the fsb and go for 10 minutes of orthos again. when you can't go 10 minutes up the vcore to 1.5375v and try again, if it works and temps are still sub 60c go up to 246-this is 3486Mhz or so*your cpu may not even be capable of a clock this high, but this is what you're shooting for, if you can get 10 minutes here don't stop orthos, keep going until it does stop or goes for 8 hours then post. if it isn't stable post all of your results so i can analyze them and i'll help you work out a stable configuration that will give you the best of all speeds.

TEST 1
ok bro 319x8x1.3 vcore @ DDR2 400Mhz. 5x HT, PCI-E buses locked at 100Mhz is highest I could get on ANY CPU<>NB voltage...and it aint too stable at 319 :)

ok 325x8x @ 1.55vcore, HT @ 4x, CPU<>NB HT 1.4v, NB<>SB HT 1.35v, Mem voltage on auto......

That seems to be best I can get! This is still the PC(6400) RAM. I'm stopping here, till you get back. At 330mhz no boot..period :) Dont worry when I finish tests...I go right back to my stable 3Ghz :)

TEST 2
5-5-5-18-2T, 2.1v, 1.4vcore, DDR1240/620mhz.....3127mb/s....310Mhz...memtest #5 20min zero errors.

TEST 3
DDR freq=400Mhz.....DDR volts=2.1v.....HT multi=5x......Vcore=1.5375v
any thing under what is shown in screen failed Orthos in 2-4mins.

Who is bro? Who is supposed to get back to you? Are you posting your results or asking for help? I think that video is a good reference for a suggestion in how to better post.

Check my guide (link in sig), page 1 should have a good way to show how you should post for assistance. You have provided some decent info and screenies, but you need to provide more then that while making a little bit more sense if possible. Not trying to offend ya...but trying to figure out what the heck you want, and who you want it from.

Could you fill out your system specs (Click on UserCP), and provide a little more info if possible? And hopefully once we figure out if you want assistance, or are just posting your results we can get this thread to make a little more sense and either help you or watch as you show us how you're taking care of business!

sorry...I missed the stupid little check box that sez: show others system specs yes/no.....
why would anyone choose NO lol? You go to all the trouble to type them in and then choose NO...that don't make sense. Anyways I found it finally and chose yes. My specs been in here since 1st post :/

While we're on subject why isn't SIG working? Its 400x100 and .jpg I tried direct upload from comp and from image shack clicked the insert button and the save etc...no joy???? It previews etc....?

Sig test.....? ahhh its magic not logic ???

Great forum but I must say you can ASSUME that if someone types in system specs they want them to be able to be seen...and as for SIG...if I had to tell someone how I got it working...I couldnt....might need a little html or CSS or w/e work on the SIG page :)

TPU is a great place, welcome to TPU btw. Yeah the Sig area is limited, but I see their reasoning behind it...but it can be a pain if you're not used to a limited sig on a forum. This place is more than worth that small quibble imo.

Back to topic, I am curious of your original post, and what you're referring to as an inquiry, there are quite a few AMD OC'ers here that may help you get more tune from your rig...I dunno, I haven't been AMD since the first Athlon was released. It seems you've done well overclocking your rig thus far, and it seems you have a pretty good build. Look forward to seeing you on the forums!

Ok this is the 9th or 10th forum Ive posted this on.... 15x multi, 1.35vcore =rock stable 3ghz

I can get a weirdly stable 3.1ghz..it passes Orthos priority 9 but it runs different amounts of tests for each batch of test.....

CPU Markings:

ADO5000IAA5DS
NAA9G 0746DPOW

Ive called ASUS, AMD, and Corsair...my theory based on tests and their responses is that a 5000 BE CPU with NAA9G core is a piece of c**p !! I called AMD almost 2 weeks ago and asked level 2 tech support about the NAA9G core number and what it meant. They siad we'll check and find out...3 days ago same convo..... friday same convo but (supervisor) Leif, said he would be sure to call me back this Monday (tomorrow). meanwhile the price on this CPU is dropping like a rock on newegg...currently $89.00....MY theory is that they down to the last sort bin and are pushin the c**p ones on unsuspecting buyers who've read all the reviews and OC-ing success stories.....

On overclock.net I ran into very nice guy Exodusprime1337 and he said..try this in this order...the three tests above..to isolate the weak link...thats keeping me from my desired 3.2ghz. he also pointed me to this forum as a better forum.

it seems NOONE that has gotten a decent OC on this CPU has the same CPU markings....aka.... the CAA9G's and the AAA9G's (THG) seem to hit 3.2ghz in 30 seconds on 16x multi and 1.4 vcore...with small variations. The kicker is I'm using the same mobo and CPU as they did at THG and apparently...this NAA9G is a bunch of ^#$##^$#^%$%^$#^%*$^$^%#$%$#%^$*$%$!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you're right that they're at the EOL on the 5000BE's, and that the revision you have could be a lower performer. All chips will OC differently, but they are getting better with consistency on the Fab of chips.

I hope AMD can give you a straight answer, but I generally find, unless you are part of a higher-teired review site or company, you won't get much out of a company like AMD.

You could sell that NAA9G and try to get a C or A revision...may be kinda tough, but it's a possible thing. I've seen many 5000BE's for sale/trade over the last couple months. So that is definately an option worth considering.

This was best run at 3.2Ghz it actually ran for 36mins (my record) altho I lost the screen cause Orthos at priority 9 sorta messes up some programs and the printscreen button lol:

From the Exodus Test above it seems the CPU is the bad guy in this case. But I bought PC(8500) Corasir Dominator Ram with last of my money lol. Exodus was right if I had run the three tests before I spent my my money I wouldn't have got the better RAM but tried again for an AAA9G or CAA9G.....now ONLY Newegg seems to have them left...and they prolly all NAA9G's.....the other well know online retailers are all out. On overclock.net I started a thread: Does anyone have this 5000BE...so far I seem to be the only "lucky" one :/

The first post of the OP was totally confusing. There was no problem or question stated, nor was stated the system hardware and configuration. That's why it was followed by
reaction. After i posted the "posting & you" video, the OP added a CPUz screen shots and the "dont post off topic plz....or grow up :/" comment. Latter he updated the post with more info and he added the "System Specs" in his profile.

No offense ghot, if you need a help you have to tell us what is your problem and you have to provide enough informations so we can try to find a solution.

My advice about your OC:
1) try to keep the HTT link near 1GHz. Anything above will lead to instability and may damage the chipset or the CPU
2) try more playing with the multiplier. x12 and x16 are offering the best memory performance.
3) if you can keep it stable @3.2GHz, that is a decent OC for an AMD K8 CPU. Don't expect miracles from other Brisbanes with other steppings. Even if others can hit 3.4GHz or 3.5GHz, you'll be able to notice that minor(less than 10%) difference in performance in a rare cases when the CPU is going to be 100% loaded.

Yea sorry about the system specs thing as i noted above I typed them all in but failed to notice the yes/no box (show to others)...which i still dont understand...Its like what they're supposed to be secret lol
As to the "no question comment" it is actually a reply to a set of tests Exodusprime1337 had given me to run (from another forum)...he also pointed me to this excellent forum.......so I posted the results on both forums. Those tests are not an OC they are to determine the limits of the subsystems...aka the motherboard, the memory and the CPU.

Even to a new OCer like myself...it seems apparent that its the CPU that has issues. I'm not trying for anything over 3.2ghz...I don't intend to get "the most" outta this comp.....I just want the minimum decent OC (3.2ghz) that everyone and their grandma seems to be getting on this exact same setup.

I have posts on about 9 OC-ing forums now....with excellent advice from numerous ppl with this mobo, CPU, RAM, Zalman etc...but w/e combinations I try it just won't stable out at 3.2ghz. I can get a stable 3.1ghz but at insane vcore aka 1.55v which is ridiculous.

Ive always bought AMD CPU's and this is the 1st time I feel cheated....I just ordered yet another 5000 BE....it should arrive in 2-4 days...I'm hoping it will be a CAA9G or AAA9G as those are the ones that seem to have BOTH cores working properly.....in every test I've NOT passed...its always Core 0 that fails never Core1...so I researched the OPN's of the various 5000 BE's and the only person I found (AMDgeeks.net) with a stable OC at 3.2ghz on an NAA9G had to use 1.59vcore ( which this mobo doesnt even have) and it ran at 71C which is again insane.

Keep in mind that all other on chip numbers being identical the NAA9G seems to be the problem. Even after multiple calls to AMD, they wont explain what the NAA9G stands for. I'm expecting a call back from an AMD supervisor today. From 9 different forums, everyone with this mobo, same RAM, same stepping CPU w/Zalaman, has achieved 3.2ghz at 1.4vcore and a simple 16x multi. Well a few had to go to 1.45vcore but thats fine also.

Remember I dont want higher than 3.2ghz even if the CPU will do it.

Here's sorta what I'm talking about with this CPU. I get rock stable 3.0Ghz at 15x multi and 1.35 vcore...no other changes....here what Orthos thinks of this CPU at 3.1ghz...lol.....noticed the number of tests it ran in each batch. At 3.0Ghz it behaves as expected 5 tests each batch etc. keep in mind that it passed all tests too lol! Altho it doesnt show in this screen....on EVERY Orthos run Core 0 always finishes any test in any batch about 20-45 seconds BEHIND Core 1.

I just tried TEST 3 again......at these settings:

HT=5x, Mem freq.=400Mhz, vcore=1.5v, CPU multi=14x, CPU freq=240Mhz

BSOD and almost couldnt get back into BIOS

Ok I....DID have a bad 5000 B.E.

Apparently it has a defunct core zero or something...I got another one at it hit 3.2ghz at 1.4vcore just like it supposed to. Only problem is I also got new RAM....I replaced: Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX with: Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5D...so I'm now kinda lost as to whether to run it at 1066mhz or 800mhz etc etc?

So what I'm looking for here is suggestions for 3.2ghz setups that take into consideration my new RAM, and the fact that my CPU now doesnt seem to have a vcore wall at 3.0Ghz.

When I first put new CPU in it went straight to 3.2Ghz but only lasted about 2.5 minutes or Orthos Blend priority 9.

Any input from people with similar setups would be MOST appreciated...namely: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe with GOOD 5000 B.E. CPU and Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5D RAM.

The 1st post in this Thread is the 3 subsystem tests I ran and their results....BUT keep in mind this was on the PC(6400) RAM and the broke CPU. The new CPU still wont boot at 240mhz @ the TEST 3 settings...best I could get was 333mhz and that only lasted about 2 mins on Orthos Blend priority 1.

So NOW lay some settings on me, wise ones
Ty for all your patience also.....

P.S. I have NO clue what to set things at for the new RAM, most of all. Further, I have no clue as to whether the new RAM affects TESTS 1 & 3.....and FYI Idle temps at 3.0Ghz (15x multi and 1.35vcore)with all else on auto .....are 26C for Mobo and 26C for CPU

Well congrats, you hit 3.2GHz. Nice work man!

Dunno what your goals with that build was after your OC adventures, but hopefully gaming is in it's future! :toast:

Hi Ghot i wrote u on another post(theme ) here .I have AA9G 0746EPMW version of the cpu but i cent to reach 3.2G.The max OC that i can reach is 3.18G stabile (for 2 days know, testing it hard:D) with 205*15.5@1.4V.But my friend gots it like 200*16@1.4V like it supposed to do and his orthos crashes for 1 core afetr 2-3mins but computer works for weeks stabile (no crashing during work and COD4 online playing :S,i dont know his cpu ver but his 3.2g works in 24/7 normal work and games but my on 3.2 just BSOD's:( but on 3.18 work rock stabile in this moment:D)
