thats a nice one!
i wouldn't expect it to be so much i get get a 1000w psu for that much on the egg...even less after rebates... but i might consider it, it looks like a really nice psu, great performance.

Are you sure they should be similar? The only thing that we know for sure is that they're both made by Topower. But Topower has SEVERAL 800W plaforms of different performance and price.

This Mushkin unit is based off of a TOP-800A-P1. Zumax tend to be peak rated and I don't believe this particular unit is as efficient as the Mushkin. Of course, we won't know for sure until someone reviews it.

spec wise there identical except for 800 vs 850w and the 3.3/5v other than that its 4 12v rails @ 20A each... of course the mushkin is modular

Lots of power supplies, ranging from 600W to 1000W, have 4 x 12V rails @ 20A each. 20A per 12V rail only tells us what the limiters are set to. The Zumax doesn't actually tell us what the +12V is actually capable of. I looked on Newegg, ZumaxPower.com and ePower's website. It's not there. The Mushkin has 64A available on the +12V.

So here's what we know...

Topower has several 800W platforms.
We don't know the actual +12V capability of the Zumax 850W unit.
The Zumax is advertised as an 850W and has more power on the 5V rail.

That's why I'm still not convinced that they're even remotely the same unit and that performance shouldn't necessarily be anywhere close to one another.
